John Kerry needs to portray himself as himself in the coming debates

It has long bothered me that during the 2000 debates, * came across, obviously, as attempting to present himself as something he was not. It was agonizing to watch. Squinting his eyes, hunching forward and pretending to care about the issues of the day as they would affect peoples lives. Compassionate Conservatism (a philosophy from the depths of hell if there ever was one) and Uniter - Not Divider. And people bought it. Not a majority of people, thank the gods, but enough to create a "slight" problem with the electoral system.

Even as a child, I turned away from people who were obviously trying to get me to believe they were something they were not. Maybe I developed a bullshit detector early on, but whatever the reason, I can't stand to watch people who are obviously trying to deceive me. For some reason, it tends to piss me off.

Kerry, thus far, has done a masterful job of deflecting the piles of horseshit being flung his direction by the right wing fanatical fascists, and I only hope he will continue to respond forcefully to their comical attempts and act to keep the focus on the message.

If he turns into a seemingly unemotional, intellectualizing politician, I believe this will turn off many voters. Al Gore (though I highly respect him) seemed to reign in most of his personality in an attempt to not offend anyone.

I say LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BRIGHTLY, KERRY, AND BE A BEACON OF HOPE FOR US ALL!

I honestly can't hardly wait for the debates. If I see the same performances by the chimpinchief, I'll be laughing my ass off.

2. that will get him far
He needs to do something.
Being a normal guy isn't going to work. Being his aloof self isn't going to work.

I think he needs to remain cautious. W. continues to spiral cowards oblivion. Kerry should be there to catch all those that w. loses.

3. One of Kerry's friends
said in an interview that when you meet John you feel short, bald, fat, ugly, and stupid. John has been fighting others' projections onto him for years. Tweety just feels intimidated. John is cool, * is not. D ; )
