14. Isn't this normal?
Aren't there almost always three debates in prez races these days? This strikes me as nothing out of the ordinary.

Kerry OKs debates; no word from Bush
The Associated Press
Updated: 12:29 p.m. ET July 15, 2004PHILADELPHIA - Democrat John Kerry on Thursday accepted an independent commission’s schedule for three presidential debates and one vice presidential showdown.

“These commission debates have become an important tradition in presidential campaigns and voters depend on them to help inform their choice,” Kerry campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill said in a statement.

7. Imagine what kind of "conditions" the repukes will put on the debates...
...who gets to ask the questions, how far in advance the questions have to be submitted, the subject matter of said questions, how many words of two or more syllables can be in the questions, etc...

11. RNC debate rules proposal:
2 minutes each, per candidate, per debate, total.

No cameras, recording devices, oaths, etc.

Karl Rove & Karen Hughes will be note-takers.

Cheney holds GW's hand.

Kerry has to drink a minimum of 4 martinis in the hour prior to each debate. (The "level-playing field " clause)

Gw's responses may be pre-recorded.

Jen & Bar must be contracted as Kerry & Edwards'hairstylists.

Dems must shave their eyebrows so as to more resemble Gephart.

etc.

did i miss any?

10. Please, please, PLEASE LET THERE BE A LINCOLN-DOUGLAS ROUND.
I would make it non-negotiable: in each debate, for 15-20 minutes, the candidates must be allowed to directly question each other.

Bush = toast.

12. I say go for five or even seven debates
nah, seven would be overkill and the American people would be so turned off by bush's glazed over rolling eyes and stammering.....hey nevermind, go for seven!

15. I would prefer 2 VP debates
Cheney has a huge influence over this administration and it's time we start asking him some important questions.

17. Debate Questions
What good are the debates if the questions are handed out beforehand?
Someone writes up Bush's responses, he memorizes them and has them printed in big type in front of him, just in case.

One idea:
The Panel of Questioners could be assigned categories. At the end of his/her questions, any one on the panel could ask questions that have not been asked in that category.

The debates have become a joke. There should be absolutely no knowledge by the debaters concerning what questions will be asked, except that the questions will concern issues facing this country.

They should be searched for ear pieces before the debating begins.
It's time GW stood on his own two feet, answers unrehearsed, ears free. Inquiring minds want to know what would happen then.

Add the category you feel should be discussed.
