James Brolin nom. for Emmy for "Reagan"
Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 12:58 PM by gauguin57
The Pugs tried to bury this movie ... and Brolin got a nomination! Babs' husband! Maybe we'll get to see a clip on the awards show.

Hee hee! (I didn't see this movie ... but I've gotta say that Brolin's thinly veiled Bush "impression" -- as Gov. Richie on "West Wing" -- was brilliant!)

Not to mention that "Angels in America," about people dealing with the AIDS crisis during the Reagan years, has a chance (I think) to set a record for the number of awards for a miniseries (it could tie or beat "Roots.")

2. This will be the NEXT big issue!
Bush and the RNC will be ALL over this.

First Whoopi and now The Emmy Awards.

Oh, then there's that war thing ....... NAWWWWWWWW!

Damn them Hollyweird LIE-berals and them Homersex'ls!

THAT'S the real issue!

3. THis is Irony of Ironies...and cbs had a chance to air
the reagun miniseries and blew it off in favor of bowing to the reichwingers...and they missed a feather in their cap..now Showtime gets it!

Go James Brolin and Barbra Streisand!

4. I saw a piece of it. It looked really accurate.
One of my relatives knew Reagan fairly well and it fit with what she said.

5. Someone I work with
Who absoultely adores the Reagans(you know the type, "Reagan was the best President ever")was so happy they decided NOT to show this film.Well, he rented it when it came out on dvd said it was GREAT.Couldn't imagine why Nancy hated it so much.Said it showed how much Nancy & Ron loved each other, showed Ron's strengths & weakness's but thought they did a good job on it.Said Judy Davis & James Brolin were fantastic!

He said he had reservations because it was Mr.Streisand(as he calls him) playing Reagan(& to be honest,I could see where he'd think that)Anyway,he said alot of Republicans in his family & church saw it & either liked it or thought it was a fairly decent movie. No one hated it.As Michael Moore has said, "Don't condem a movie before you see it".
