Premise: George W Bush uses an radio earpiece in Press Conference
and will do so in debate...

Conclusion: In order to counter this "cheating" in debate, someone needs to JAM these radio signals at debate? Is this possible?

2. Oh no, not jam . . .

they need to send "disinformation" through the wire.

Maybe they could prompt him into repeating all the truths he's been hiding.

capability...Also would need to impersonate Dick Cheney or Scooter Libby or whatever wonky whore is on the other side.

41. It may surprise you to learn that certain presidents
actually have a brain in their fucking heads, didn't completely fuck off in school for 20 years and actually received an education (instead of being drunken coked up party boys living on their daddy's money and prestige and, have the ability to speak contemporaneously and not sound like....well, George Fucking Bush!!

3. Kerry should just challenge him.
He should just say, flat out, "Let's do this thing without the teleprompters, without the earpieces, one on one." Lay down some line about it being about the individuals and not the spinsters in the back. George will break into a cold sweat just thinking about it.

That would destroy George, if he can't have a ventriloquist supplying him his answers.

26. I agree. This is by far the simplest and most EFFECTIVE solution
If Kerry fails to do this, well, that's his choice I guess. Eventually they will make the damn thing so small it will not be visible externally. Then I guess you'd have to jam it. Should not be too difficult, because if it is so small so as to be not visible, it couldn't be a particularly sophisticated receiver that could resist jamming (say, by frequency hopping, but what do I know...).

5. I'm convinced he does
I remember this press conference, shit WHAT press conferences-one of his stupid repetitive stump speeches that they would show ON EVERY STATION CNN MS FOX and there was this weird frequency that had to be from his ear thingy-it was on every station too.

7. I don't know, I don't think the earpiece helps him -- as someone
pointed out a few days ago in another thread, they thought he seemed much more lucid and able to put his thoughts together in paragraphs (they compared the 2000 debates to recent press appearances) and spoke more naturally, without radio control, as compared to today where he seems to get about four words out, and then stop and look into space for a few seconds, then repeat another phrase, or mis-hear a word and make up a new Bushism...

16. Help and Hurt. . .
In the context of a no-challenege press conference (thanks, American Media!) the earpiece probably helps as much as hurts. He doesn't spend as much time pausing or saying blatantly stupid things, and yet on the other hand, he does get some words messed up. However, things like "Ah-foo-muh-can't get fooled again!" are priceless gems that can only come straight from the ass's mouth.

In a DEBATE, however, where Kerry is standing not five feet away, the lack of an earpiece could spell his doom. Especially if Kerry comes at him with something that Bush hasn't memorized his talking points for. It might cause his speach patters to improve, to take away the earpiece, but it would definitely be a severe blow to the words making up those patterns. Just imagine it. . .

Bush: "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family, and to help your wings take dream!"

Kerry: "Moderator. . . could you please instruct President Bush to speak English."

8. Jamming it would be easy....
All you need is one of those keyless-entry thingiees from you car. Right after the question is posed, press one of the buttons and it should jam the signal. You would have to be close to the prez though (within 20 or so rows) for it to work.

10. See where the broadcaster is @ - take a dog whistle and blow it!
Most people will not hear the frequency but an ear piece does a WONDERFUL job in magnifying it to a hearable painful sound :D

11. Info is out there

Early jammers were but a simple transmitter keyed on to a specific frequency producing a carrier which interfered with receiving stations.

Since the advent of ECCM (Electronic Counter Counter Measures) radio equipment, the simple single carrier jammer has become ineffective. Modern day ECCM radio equipment use such techniques as Frequency Hopping and Spread Spectrum technology to circumvent the effects of ECM jamming equipment.

Modern technology has lead to the development of modern jamming equipment employed in today's tactical environment. This new breed of equipment is capable of employing such techniques as wide-band rf spectrum transmitters, and various audio tones to jam or to spoof receiving equipment and their operators. Other more sophisticated systems are comprised of frequency tracking receivers and transmitters and utilize several large directional antenna arrays that permits directional jamming and creates deep nulls towards the "friendly area" to minimize the effects of the jamming.

issue anywhere except the military and even then, they are so seldom used as such that they mainly gather dust.

No, in the short span of time involved, it would be as close to impossible as you can get to be caught.

that is prompting shrub. I mean he lives somewhere he went to school somewhere. He may be married has friends.

A way to find someone who recognizes the Voice of Dimsons prompter.

Shit there must be a way!

This would be devastating for shrubs election campaign.

36. J. Kerry should...
walk over to Shrub and look in one ear then walk around and look into the other. If he sees an earpiece he should walk back over to this podium and request to mod to ask Shrub to remove the earpiece. If there is no earpiece then the audience would wonder what the Hell Kerry was doing. ;)
