Kerry Asks Sen. Clinton to Speak at DNC
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&u=/ap/20040715/ap_on_el_pr/kerry_clinton_1&printer=1

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - John Kerry has asked Hillary Rodham Clinton to introduce her husband, former President Clinton, on the first night of the Democratic National Convention, giving her a speaking role that Democrats had sought for the New York senator.

The Kerry campaign unveiled its first set of speakers for the convention early this week, including former Presidents Clinton and Gore, Al Gore (news - web sites) and others, but the absence of the former first lady drew criticism from Democrats, particularly women.

The senator herself said she was not disappointed, but a lobbying effort quickly got under way on her behalf.

Kerry, who was campaigning in Pennsylvania, reached out to Clinton and asked her to introduce her husband. She agreed to the request, according to an aide to Kerry.

1. Yup, just saw it on CNN.
Now maybe that asshole Tucker Carlson will shut the fuck up!! I'm tired of seeing him on Crossfire bitching about how offended he and other 'feminists' are that Hillary isn't speaking.

7. Won't fly
Kerry didn't make the initial decision. He merely corrected the DNC's "oversight".

10. While I think this was a good decision
I don't think it makes Kerry look very good.

I don't think it's that big of a deal that Hillary's not speaking. She is taking part by being a part of the women's senators segment.

I think Hil should've been asked to introduce Bill right off the bat and now that Kerry was "forced" to give Hil more of a role to play, it may seem like Kerry can be easily persuaded by his own party.
Kerry needed to stand his ground.

12. No. It shows Kerry knows how to be a true "uniter"
unlike others.

13. What do you mean?
Because he's uniting the party because that's what the party wants:

For Hillary to play more of a role.
