and it be unfair to mention that his family firm stole billions from Medicare...

11. Frist and Santorum are the top of my list
but it's hard to have a list without that old fetus fetishist and seat warmer extraordinary Pete Domenici. I think he's hired Stron Thurmond's old taxidermist, and we'll be stuck with the old fart forever.

46. I agree he's an asshole, but TO BE FAIR
His spokesperson is on the record as saying the box turtle comments were in prepared text but never delivered, supposedly because "he found them inappropriate." I have no idea if this is true or not, but I prefer to reserve judgement until I see proof one way or the other. That's why I've laid off the box turtle comments more recently. I just don't know if they actually happened.

40. I like Byrd
...a LOT. Two years ago he was taking the lead in the Senate in denouncing Bush's war moves in Iraq, at a time when few others dared to speak out. Sen. Byrd won my admiration then, as did the others who spoke out like Dennis Kucinich.

I agree about Rick "man on dog" Santorum. What a jerk.

47. Byrd
I admire his courage to stand up against the war, but I do NOT like him one bit. A former KKK member who a few years ago said "nigger lover" on TV and who said that no gay people live in West Virginia is not someone I admire. Oh and lets not forget that he was one of the few democratic senators who supported the FMA....

For worst senator though, I would have to nominate ol' Zell.

he's so incredibly embarrassing. A Dem who's been invited to speak at the GOP convention. He voted FOR the constitutional ban on gay marriages. We have a whole state full of lousy politicians. But, he's the worst.

If he votes like a Republican, speaks at their convention, endorses dickheads like Bush and Cheney...there is absolutely no reason, in my opinion to keep the sorry fuck around.

36. He got his start as chief of staff for Lester Maddox.
Lester Maddox was a restaurant owner who chased his black patrons out of his place with an axe. That got him a loyal following, and next thing you know, Maddox is the governor of Georgia.

both of whom claim to be my senators. Hutchinson was a co-sponsor of the gay marriage amendment. Cornyn of box turtle sex fame among other things.

Yeah, I know there are probably worse Senators, but to me they are the absolute worst because I have to be represented by the f*ckers.

34. George Allen is a racist idiot.
Like another dickhead named George, he got where he is because of who his daddy was. He conned Virginia voters into thinking he was some kind of good old country boy. Reality check - grew up in wealthy So. Calif. suburb where his most notable achievement was spray-painting racist graffiti on the walls of his high school and displaying Confederate flag decals on his car.

I hope the repukes make the mistake of trying to run him for higher office one day and that his past comes back to bite him in the ass.
I am one of many classmates who has not forgotten why George was suspended from school.

With honorable mention to Daschle and Lieberman for the Democrats.

Daschle is terrible as minority "leader".

Who can ever forget seeing him in Michael Moore's movie supporting Chimpy's illegal war and encouraging everyone else to do the same?

Come to think of it.... maybe Daschle is the worst.
