Poll question: Fencehoppers, Lefties and Backdoors oh my !! (after repair)
Here's a simple poll question ...

Where do you fit on the political spectrum ???

NOTE: there were some problems with this poll when I first posted it (we had some hanging chads) ... if you voted before, please vote again ... kind of feels a little like the 2000 Florida vote, doesn't it?

1. In 2000 and 2002, I would have been a "Loyal Leftie"
After this election, I'm a "Fencehopper".

2. where you headed, Walt?
planning to join another party after the election?

i'm thinking of joining the Greens after this year ... there are many good things to be said about democrats and the democratic party, but i don't like having a two party system and the democrats are much too cozy with corporate america ...

i'll probably continue to vote for democrats on the national level though ... but maybe not locally ... we'll see ... of course, living in Massachusetts, it doesn't make much difference what the hell i do ...

8. Either another party or independent
If Kerry lives up to my expectations, I will probably vote Republican to get him out of office unless the Republican candidate is named Bush.

It would be the first time in my life I will ever vote Republican.

I am open to the possibility of the Democratic Party evolving spines, though not hopeful.

person, no matter what party, unless I don't know about the candidate, then I vote dem or independent.

I would love to say that after the election I would jump the fence to a third party, but there is no viable third party. I want my vote to count. As things stand in our nation, votes for the third party are just throw away votes.

We need a viable third party or no parties at all. I hate the party system.

4. Loyal Lefty for now. Years ago I would have been considered a moderate
or centrist Democrat, but now I am frequently accused of being a left wing nut or fringe lefty. I may check into changing my party registration after Nov. - haven't totally decided yet.

6. Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Kerry.
The first three I was a Lefty Dem. This time I'm a fence hopper (SPUSA) bordering on a "fuck it all" beyond the fencer.

7. what do you think is causing your move to the left?
is it all you've learned on DU? is it the war in Iraq? is it the Dems move toward the center? d. all of the above ??

is SPUSA the Socialist Party of the USA? if so, how do you distinguish between that party and the Greens ??
