3. Just cause Edwards may be veep for 8 years
in no way gives him a lock on the nomination.

If Obama runs and gets all the black vote and substantial white vote, he'll win the primary.

And like Obama, Edwards has charisma, too.

I think 8 years as VP will also be very beneficial to Obama, who will only have 8 years as a Senator by 2012. Which ain't bad, but it's not great either.

2. The man is INCREDIBLE!
I think he has a very good chance to be the first black President. I would vote for him! Have you read his resume? VERY impressive.

4. Assuming we still have a democratic republic then
If we are still having elections, I make him for VP in 12 and Pres in 20.

6. hopefully by then there will be other minorities and women
of similar stature (senator, governor, high ranking house member etc) who will then be competing in the democratic presidential primaries or considered to be vp.

but for now as long as obama makes it to the senate i see a very good future for him.

8. I think that Harold Ford is more impressive.
Obana will be a towering figure in the next few years if we still have elections. I think that if bush is elected that will end elections as we know them.

9. My problem with Ford
is that he seems pretty DINO. Obama, OTOH, is a 70's-model liberal.

10. Harold Ford is from Tennessee and Obama is from Illinois
so ford has to be a little more conservative to win. but i think he is really more liberal than he appears. in fact i can imagine an obama/ford ticket. ford would be the more conservative candidate to balance out the ticket.
