I turned David Letterman's on late. I caught the Kerry/Edwards
tape with the sweet music on background... But I think he was criticizing it because he stamped the words "Are Gay" on the last picture of the snippet.
Then he made his music guy put really dynamic music on and run the snippet again, without the gay implication.

He had the 10 top things with Kerry/Edwards. Some of them funnier than others, in my opinion (of course I am biased).
But David is definitely on our corner.

And Leno...what is wrong with him? Because he is not as right anymore. He had some zingers! for Bush: he speaks better Spanish than English... and he run two snippets to prove it. He looks like an ape when speaking Spanish (God bless America in Spanish eeewwww)..and in English...he was looking and looking for the teleprompter and could not find it. It was histerical!

1. How do you think that Letterman was being critical of this?
Please give me some hope that at least Viacom is truly on our side.

2. See, I turned it on late. But he did not look happy... I don't know
what he said before playing it, but this was done by LENO so I am sure it was nothing positive.

9. It's not the same montage
as the Tonight Show. They were using the same source footage, but it was cut differently. Also, Dave's piece was shorter. Jay's piece was a 'new campaign commercial.'

6. Dave had a good adlib a couple of weeks ago about Smirky........
"Aaaaahhhhh, I'm gonna miss that guy."

A reference to all the material Shit-for-Brains provides him with.

7. The other night, Dave talked about

the idea of postponing the election "in case of a terrorist attack. . . or scattered showers."

Then he said "They say they don't want the terrorists to determine the election. No, they want the governor of Florida to determine the election."

Dave, :yourock:

8. Dave's Letting It Rip...
Tonight's Bush Lie bit was a pay-off on a bunch of Kerry clips he's run under the same title where Kerry would say how much he was glad to be in Cleveland or so on...and generally it was done to show how a soundbite can be taken out of context and made into a big deal. It's Dave's shot at what the media doing that to Democrats and making * look good.

I thought the Gay bit tonight was a take-off on the crap that the Repugnicans have been circulating around for the past week. It's the pointing out at the homophobe fangs of the GOOP. My son was watching it with me (nightly Father & Son ritual...Daily Show & Letterman) and said there's no way anyone could believe that those two were gay...I mentioned that Bow-tie Boy on Crossfire alluded to it just the other day. He was educated by Dave about the spin of the Repugnicans and in a very subtle way.

Watch this show carefully...Dave's getting a strong message out and it's interesting how it's taking. Tonight when he played the Bush Lies clip, the audience applaued loudly in anticipation...they weren't doing that a couple months ago when he started with this.

This is also part of Viacom/Infinity/CBS taking their shots at the regime that has gone out of its way to single this company out for fines (Janet Jackson, Stern) and has favored its competition: Clear Channel. Methinks the higher-ups don't mind Dave's antics one bit.

If you watch Dave regularly you can see he has become much bolder about taking shots at Chimpy.

12. Leno.
It's probably easier to get more good guests if he's on the Hollywood side of the great divide.

Just a hunch.
