Wishing The Powers That Be a swell Cremation of Care 2004!
Edited on Fri Jul-16-04 12:00 AM by Minstrel Boy
This is the week you, our beneficient overlords, get to doff the suits and put on the ceremonial robes of Bohemian Grove and sacrifice to your giant owl god! Hope you folks have a real hooooot!

Who could begrudge you, the true rulers of the world, the chance to let your hair down, renew old acquaintances (Say hi to Henry for us!), get hammered and molest the staff in perfect freedom? Hell, maybe even participate in a ritual slaying or two. Why shouldn't you? And more to the point, who's going to stop you?

I trust the scruffy proles of the Bohemian Grove action network won't distract you from your idyl:

Looks like a party!

2. I've followed this via Alex Jones' websites
Very interesting!

My only question is...how the hell is Alex Jones still alive with all his exposes of Bohemian Grove?

3. Jones isn't much of a threat to TPTB.
Even though he does get some important material and interviews out there, it's mixed in with, IMHO, very confused signals about the UN and "one world government." And his style is so hyperbolic everything he does is easily dismissed out of hand by those who are so inclined.

Basically, I think he's worth more to them alive than dead.

5. Makes sense
Sometimes the best secrets are right out in the open, but taken seriously by very few...those whose eyes are not wide shut.

4. Thanks for the link!
I've always rankled at the killing of 'care'... since I tend to believe in the power of ritual I think it's more than just 'symbolic'. I don't doubt that some of the morans there don't know the power of what they're doing, though, sadly.

6. interesting observation
The ritual I'm sure means nothing to many participants, but that doesn't make it meaningless. One way or another, ritual never is.

7. and don't forget the "mass urination" at the end!
You fellas might want to change out of your Gucci leather loafers before that part ... then again, you can probably afford to ruin good leather!

BTW, I recently began studying Victorian-era attitudes towards camping and wilderness -- and it's really amazing how many of the things mentioned in accounts of Bohemian Grove (including the nicknames for the carefully-designed campsites, the performances, and even the cremation ceremony) are right out of the 1890s. Kind of sad, actually -- these modern power brokers are nostalgic for a world which was also deeply dissatisfied (the reason why those Victorian capitalists had a hankering to get away from their orderly lives, even going so far as to construct perfect log cabins inside their mansions, so they could pretend that they were living free in the woods, away from business cares and high society obligations).
