3. Agreed, this is a very good line of argument when talking to Republicans

They tend to hate all forms of "entitlements" and government spending on healthcare, pensions, benefits of any kind.

It must make them squirm to know that we're spending all this to better the lives of Iraqis, when they can't stand to spend it in the USA.

The argument has lots of ironic angles.
