I wonder how many of the "little people" out there in his audience would cringe if they knew how much money ole Howie has made off their ignorance and gullibility..

These guys are the "news" version of the tv ministers..they get rich off their audience with clever lies and deceptions..

They fertilize the angst of their followers with hate, and make lots of money in the process.. There is never a shortage of naive people who buy their schtick..

Without the "hook" they use, they would be doing a local kids show on some podunk station for $20K a year.

8. You're Watching Formula

Carr showed the "power of the button"...as he kept asking Brian "how can you take these called without a delay" or "how can you deal with this every day (despite Mr. C-SPAN only being on once a week)...since he lives in a bubble in his little radio treehouse and never has to deal with an opposing viewpoint.

Carr is like many other hate radio types who call themselves "entertainers"...to cover their asses as they control both the message and the messengers on their shows. They have lacky producers who zeaously filter calls and set up guests who make the boss look good. If there's a disenting caller, be assured it's been screened to make sure the person can easily be beaten up...anyone who sounds intelligent or can out-talk the smartass screener won't ever make it on the air. The mighty Carr couldn't be bother with that.

If confronted, Carr, just like Rush & Hannity, goes on the diversion route...parse, slice, spin or just plain give an answer to the question YOU want answered...get the slam out you want as you always will get the last word and have control of the "debate". Carr looks like a master at this...set before he walks into the studio as to the slurs he's going to level that day and those who disagree...even in the slightest...are used to hammer the nail in further. Hannity is a classic at this.

I used to be told this was the only way to make talk radio entertaining...doing something open...where anyone can participate is boring. Yep, Carr makes a nice buck, as does the corporate (Clear Channel) that owns the station as this format has made literal pearls from swine. Here's hoping a liberal eqivelent starts to take hold.

9. I was impressed by Lamb when

a woman called and hammered on Bush's IQ... saying if Carr was supposed to be talking about Kerry he should know about his IQ... that he should find that out and let's compare the two men's IQ's. She made some other points and when she was done Lamb says something like, 'She's giving you back what you're giving, how do you respond to that?'
