Was Saddam tortured ??
Cheney and bush keep using the phrase "we still might find WMD's in Iraq" ... of course, saying this is nothing but damage control ... there are no WMD's ...

and now their campaign is hiding behind the Senate report that places much of the blame on the CIA for providing bush with bad intelligence ... talk about pouring water on a drowning man !!

we also know that Ashcroft provided bush with his own very special definition of what constitutes torture ... Ashcroft's definition would get him convicted of war crimes if the World Court ever heard the case ... this paved the way for the bush administration's widespread abuse of prisoners so that they could obtain information to "protect us" ... of course the truth is, bush was doing nothing but trying to protect his standing in the polls after no WMD's were found ...

and that brings us to the little matter of Saddam ... right after the U.S. marched into Baghdad, we were told that Iraqi scientists would soon be telling us exactly where to find the WMD's ... strike one ... then we were told, the scientists were afraid to talk because they were worried that Saddam may yet reclaim power and they would be punished for helping the U.S. ... strike two ... and then Saddam was captured and still no WMD information was forthcoming from the scientists ... strike three ...

so now we had Saddam ... what we didn't have was any information whatsoever to find the WMD's that would have helped bush immensely in the polls ... so, let me ask this obvious question ... does anyone actually believe that Saddam wasn't tortured so that he would disclose information on WMD's ??? of course he was ... and guess what? ... strike four !!!

WMD's do not exist in Iraq ... there is absolutely no possibility that they will be found (unless of course they are planted there) ... and yet Cheney and bush continue to lie ... this is, of course, to be expected ... but what's really frustrating is that the American press never challenges them when they try to keep the possibility of WMD's in Iraq alive ... bush made a statement like this when he was on MTP ... and little Timmy never challenged him ... the lies are so obvious and the American media are still not doing their jobs ...
