Dr. Dean
Anyone think that Dean will run for president again somewhere down the line? I remember Bill Maher asking him this shortly after he halted his primary campaign, but he kind of dodged the question. Thoughts?

1. I don't know, but I hope so!
He'd make a good Senator from Vermont, too. But I already like Leahy and Jeffords.

2. I think he should run in 2008
He got raked over pretty well this election cycle, but he has learned a lot, and he's done more for democracy than just about anyone I can think of right off hand.

The way I see it Kerry has about 4 years to show us he represents the Democratic wing of the democratic party. Nuff said, before I get into trouble. LOL

3. it all depends
If Kerry/Edwards are successful in November then probably not. If they are not with what he began in this election cycle I could certainly see him run again in 2008 and if he continues doing the things he has been doing I would certainly expect to support him again. But lets take one election at a time.

If Jeffords or Leahy retire I could envision the good doctor running for the Senate. Perhaps he might even be interested in being governor of Vermont again.

7. In all honesty
I think that this election was his big shot. I'm operating with the hope that there are going to be 8 years of Kerry/Edwards. I was just curious as to what Dean's supporters think the future may hold.

8. No problem
Although I didn't support him in the primary, I loved what he did for our party as a whole....if we're able to pull this thing off then some of the credit has to go his way. He energized his supporters to get out there and spread his message, and he energized his democratic rivals to sharpen up their messages and take a cue.

9. I don't know if he'll run again.
I hope that he does run again sometime in the future. It depends on how well Kerry and Edwards do once they get into the White House. Will Kerry be around for 4 years or 8 years? If Kerry doesn't decide to run for another term after his first, or after his second term, will Edwards run? Etc. Etc. I would love to see Dean stay in the news though because I think he can do great things for the party.

10. Dean = Reagan 1976
This was Dean's coming-out year. I'll be shocked if he doesn't run again.

P.S. I mean no disparagement with the Reagan reference. Reagan spoke at the GOP convention in '76 so well that a lot of people wished he was the nominee. Four years later, he was.

12. We do agree on that.
He is building a base of support not only for candidates, but also for himself.
