Iraqi Catholic mother's prayer before her son's recent wedding
http://natcath.org/

“Please, Lord and Mother Mary, let there be no explosions on Ziad’s wedding. Please, God, keep car bombs and guns away from them on Friday. Amen.”

-- The prayer of Sabah Nasser, an Iraqi Christian, in the weeks leading up to her son’s recent marriage

The National Catholic Reporter is a good source for 'liberal Roman Catholicism'.

1. How awful that her prayer was for them to live through the
ceremony with all body parts intact. How awful that she couldn't be praying to give them long live, happiness and abundance.

Yes, the Catholic Reporter is a good source for what most Catholics are thinking. Most of them are really quite liberal, unlike their hidebound and ridiculously reactionary church hierarchy.
