James Woolsey complicit in Iraqi disinformation campaign prior to war ...
Mister Woolsey, member of the notorious 'Project for a New American Century' gang and former head of the CIA, is directly implicated in channeling false information to the Bush WH, bypassing CIA verification of the critical information ....

Woolsey 'stovepiped' false claims from the INC, the same organization that produced 'Curveball' and Ahmed Chalabi, directly to the civilian ranks of the defense department, essentially bypassing the CIA vetting process ...

Of course, this would make the latest report from the Senate Intelligence Committee blaming the CIA for the faulted information used to 'justify' war useless and misguided, since the CIA CANNOT be blamed for information it wasnt ever given ...

Furthermore: Mr. Woolsey has been a regular fixture on CNN, MSNBC and Fox as an 'expert', giving his views on Iraqi issues to the public at large through these channels ...

In a way: CNN, MSNBC and Fox have ALSO been 'stovepiping' false information to US, the VIEWING PUBLIC, by allowing the likes of Frank Gaffney, Douglas Feith and ESPECIALLY James Woolsey the opportunity to spread their disinformation DIRECTLY to viewers without the benefit of verification or tests of veracity ....

It is incumbent on us to TELL CNN, MSNBC and even FAUX that WE DONT APPRECIATE BEING HOODWINKED BY THEIR SO CALLED EXPERTS ....

It is one thing to 'hoodwink' the CIA .... it is a whole other ballgame to lie to our citziens ... directly ... without repercussions ....

They MOST be told by us "DO NOT ALLOW REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PNAC TO PUMP LIES INTO THE MEDIA ANY MORE" ...

It is our duty to notify them of our disgust ....

America's New War: Should Iraq be Next?
By R. James Woolsey

POINT: Europe delayed confronting Hitler until he was strong. We shouldn't wait to stop Saddam.

For his part, Saddam only needs time to add nuclear and longer-range missile capabilities to his current arsenal of chemical and bacteriological weapons, and short-range missiles. He will then be able to deter coalitions from forming against him, to dominate his corner of the world, and to make it far less likely that we will be able to interrupt his rule and his dynasty. Terrorist attacks on us serve these ends if they help keep us away from him.

The case for removing Saddam only becomes stronger with the passage of time. First, there is no reasonable debate about the proposition that he has chemical and bacteriological weapons and short-range ballistic missiles. In the May issue of Vanity Fair, for example, writer David Rose debriefs an Iraqi defector who chronicles the locations of their production in Iraq -- including the use of mobile laboratories for making bacteriological agents. Rose also revealed Iraqi work on ballistic missiles of increasingly longer range that will soon be capable of reaching Europe. The Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control, a nonprofit organization, has published details about the four tons of VX nerve gas and the several hundred tons of other chemical agents Iraq possesses. In addition to hiding many tons of growth media for biological agents and pursuing its work on smallpox and anthrax, Iraq is the only nation in the world to have weaponized aflatoxin, whose primary purpose is to cause liver cancer in children.

But Iraq is just the next battle in a war that will take a number of years, quite possibly decades. Given the three major movements in the Middle East which are, in essence, at war with us, we will not have peace until we defeat them and win this fourth world war. To win it, we must decide that we are fighting it in no small part to bring freedom and democracy to those whom we want to have as friends and allies: the people of the Arab and Muslim worlds

Woolsey, responding to questions from Jim Lehrer regarding George Tenet:

R. JAMES WOOLSEY, Former CIA Director: I think he has the personal integrity to call it straight, to be the skunk at the garden party in a sense, the director of Central Intelligence often has to be.

R. JAMES WOOLSEY: Well, I’ve known him since he was staff director as well, and I worked very close with him in the two years I was DCI when he was the chief intelligence staffer for the National Security Council. And I’ve kept up with him over the course of the last several years while he’s been--two years while he’s been out at Langley. I think George also has--he has an excellent sense of humor, and he has--

R. JAMES WOOLSEY: Because often the intelligence doesn’t comport with what the policy makers would like for it to say. You are always telling people when you’re director of Central Intelligence things that they don’t want to hear. I think George has the integrity to do that. Sometimes it’s good news, but often it’s not.

R. JAMES WOOLSEY: That’s right. And I think that shows a certain deft capacity for deception which really suits him very well for the job.

3. Woolsley was one of the first ones on the networks after
9/11. Him and Netanyahu's mugs kept cropping up all over the place and I couldn't help thinking that both of them were taking advantage of the confusion.

Shocked as I was to read this in the Springfield News Leader (MO) ...

Ex-spy chief guided Iraqi defector around CIA

Woolsey's actions allowed lies to reach Pentagon.

By Jonathan S. Landay and Warren P. Strobel
Knight Ridder

-snip-

By using his Pentagon contacts, Woolsey provided a direct pipeline to the government for Harith's information that bypassed the CIA, which for years had been highly distrustful of the exile group that produced Harith.

The Senate Intelligence Committee didn't address that issue last week in its 511-page report on Iraq intelligence.

The report largely blamed the CIA for hyping and misreading intelligence that buttressed President Bush's charges that Saddam had devastating weapons that he could use against the United States or give to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terrorist network.

Francis Brooke, Washington representative of the Iraqi National Congress, the exile group that produced Harith and other defectors, said intermediaries such as Woolsey and former Pentagon official Richard Perle, another leading war advocate, contacted the Bush administration multiple times on the INC's behalf.

Such referrals were an efficient way to get potentially crucial intelligence to the government, Brooke said. He stressed that the INC made no claims about the defectors' veracity and it was up to U.S. officials to decide whether to use their information.

-snip-

Woolsey of course claims he didnt know these were lies .... yet they conveniently fit into his and his gangs 'master plan' nicely enough to SPREAD them as 'facts' in every media outlet he could reach ...
