What will happen to America if bu*h gets re-Selected? |
|
I have a lot of anxiety about this possibility, and my own opinions regarding its consequences. But, I would like to get a variety of views about what we can expect following the worst of all possible presidential election 2004 scenarios. I want to understand and be prepared for what MAY come.

Please don't fret. Instead, work on convincing a swing voter or two, work, work, work. Worry is useless and it makes you sick.

6. Term limits, that can be changed too. We're fucked if he get re-selected |

That may very well happen. Florida is still totally screwed up. We may not get a fair accounting again.

5. A mass exodus of scientists, for one |
|
The pure and applied science research will probably dry up from a lack of foreign specialists who either don't want to come or are barred from coming.
Cutting edge research in genetics will be done elsewhere because of the ban on embryonic cloning and availability of cell lines.
Environmental research is constantly undercut by ideologues inserted into scientific funding and review boards. Such people are usually former industry insiders or lobbyists whose potential for conflict of interest is obvious.
Academic levels will be lowered because of underfunded programs at the under and post-graduate college level. Higher tuitions will limit student numbers.
Industry/research partnerships will be limited to only the most profitable short-term ventures. Many will be outsourced to foreign universities with lower costs.
These are just a few I can think of on a specific subject.
