What happened to that $87 billion dollars that Bush criticizes Kerry for..
not voting for the troops? I heard on MSNBC yesterday that only $463 million had been spent thus far? That's less than one percent ! If it was so vital, why haven't they spent it yet?? If it isn't needed, why are they criticizing Kerry for? ANyone else hear this?

2. re: 87 billion
I believe that $463 million applies only to the 18+ billion authorized for reconstruction that was *vitally* needed. It seems like congress added some strings to it that limited no bid contracts to companies like haliburton. So the CPA switched to using Iraq oil money (something like $20 billion) that didn't have those strings attached. There's been several articles posted about how the CPA has refused to accurately account for how that money was spent.

I believe there is a $25 billion supplmentary appropiation in congress for military operations that will last until the first of the year.

4. But you raised a good question
What has happened with the 87 billion? Chimpy demanded a got a blank check from Congress.... no questions asked.

And how long until Chimpy asks for billions more?
