"Family Oriented" Disney promotes Right Wing Hate Radio:
http://www.sfbg.com/News/34/51/51disney.html

"So as long as Mickey Mouse and Co. are cross-promoting, why not give San Francisco's own Michael Savage – a host on Disney-owned "Hot Talk" KSFO-AM – his own Disneyland ride? They could call the ride "It's a White World After All." Or kids could take aim at immigrants trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border at the "Savage Nation Shooting Gallery." The Disney Store chain might sell Savage's commentaries on "turd-world" immigration, or why women shouldn't vote, or the gay rights movement, which he calls the "Pink Swastika."

Actually, it's safe to say you won't see any of those things coming to Disneyland anytime soon. The giant media conglomerate works hard to promote and defend its image as a family-friendly entertainment company that makes nice movies, runs clean, safe, fun amusement parks for Mom, Dad, and the kids, and bills itself as "the place to turn for quality family entertainment."

But there's another side to Disney, and you can hear it every day in, of all places, San Francisco. Welcome to hate radio, Disney style."

The Mouse is the enemy!

5. They paid for the film, they allowed it to be distributed, and
they told Moore before he began filming they wouldn't distribute it.

I'm betting Moore and Eisner worked that whole scam out to promote each of them. Moore got a lot of free pub and a mega smash hit, and Eisner got to pay for an anti-Bush film and still keep the Bush's from smashing him. Eisner's a liberal, as nearly as I can tell. He was a huge Bill Bradley supporter, and although he gave some money to Bush, he gave more to Bush's opponents, including Gore. He also donates to PAC to the future, which is Nancy Pelosi's PAC.

Notice in the film that twice Moore highlights Disney? He may be saying he's pissed, but he owes a lot to Disney.

7. It's certainly plausible...
Just the facts you mentioned aren't apparently noticeable...

2. It's funny
because Disney has *never* supported a "wide range of voices," as they claim, or why the fuck would they drop Farenheit 9/11? Hypocrites, all of them. Big surprise.

3. Mixed bag-- Eisner contributes more to Democrats than Repubs
He's all over the map, too. He donated to Bush, Gore, Bradley, and Orin Hatch. Find a thread?

He was once a huge Bradley supporter, and supposedly got jealous of other Hollywood figures holding fundraisers for Bradley.

Disney has released Mulan, Pocahontas, and the Lion King II (which have anti-war messages), they have been big promoters of the multi-cultural movement, and they have been big on environmentalism. They have several attractions at EPCOT devoted to environmentalism. They were one of the first big companies to offer domestic partner benefits, and stood up to the Baptist boycott over the issue.

There are more evil companies than Disney. There are more conservative news sources than ABC. Disney is a mixed bag, but they have not been all bad by a long shot. The Mouse isn't the enemy, he is just another corporate entertainment industry responding to the times.

8. Savage is no longer at KSFO
He's peddling his wares with a Clear Channel rival (KNEW).

Every major conglomerate has a few RW talk stations. Unfortunately, people listen, and there is ample syndicated product out there. KNEW is probably dirt cheap to run, since it's mostly syndicated CC fare.

In Disney's defense, they do own KGO, KSFO's sister station, which has an ample amount of liberal talk. And it's the top rated station in the market. They even took Rush Limbaugh's show off and sent it to KSFO.

But it is my opinion that just about all corporate broadcast media conglomerates are dirty as hell. I've worked in the business, and I know this.
