Oldest living WWI vet dies? Could this be him?
In my local newspaper (Laffayette, LA: _Daily Advertiser_) today (16 June) a Mr. Thomas Alexander is listed as dying June 11, 2004 at the age of 111. "He served in World War I and is proud of being a vetern for his country."

I thought these guys were all long dead. Reading of Alexander's death was somehow beautiful, realizing that someone who served so long ago was able to have such a possiblity (in quantity of time) for living . . . and part of 3 centuries!

Are there any other living WWI vets? If not . . . maybe DU has a scoop!

1. There are a few thousand left, but they're going fast
Considering that you'd have to be about 104 years old to have been old enough to serve, not surprising.
