Nixon's pardon. 30th anniversary this Sept.8.
"Now, therefore, I, Gerald R. Ford, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from July (January) 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974."

(The President signed the proclamation and then resumed reading.)

"In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of September, in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and seventy-four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the one hundred and ninety-ninth."

His reasons given here:

1. Biggest ever political payoff.
Gerald Ford, appointed to the vice-presidency after one crook resigned, assumed the presidency after another crook resigned. Never elected to national office yet has ALL the perks and compensation due an elected president after 26 years. I don't think any other ex-president has lived so long after leaving office. Someone should figure out what the dollar cost has been to the tax-payers.

2. "Equal Justice Under the Law" Bwwwhhahahahhahahhhaaa
Nixon had a whole list of crimes that he was guilty of, most notably the slaughter of about a million southeast Asians.

Meanwhile, courageous men who refused to participate in the crime where thrown in prison.
