http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/A blog called BlueGrassRoots has a post up saying that the Louisville Kentucky Republican party (specifically, the Jefferson County Republican Party) is handing out signs that read "Kerry is bin Laden's Man/Bush is My Man."
I put in a call to the head of the Jefferson County Republicans, Jack Richardon IV and asked him if this were true.
Richardson told me that he'd seen a bumper sticker with that phrase on it and agreed with it heartily. "I believe that if you look at John Kerry's voting record in the senate," he told me, "why wouldn't bin Laden prefer Kerry over Bush?"
When I pressed Richardson on whether or not his party organization was distributing it, he acknowledged that they probably were handing it out on their campaign literature tables at recent events. And if it was being handed out, "I make no apologies for it."

So, I just called the headquarters of the Republican Party in Louisville to confirm that they actually had a sign saying, "Kerry is bin Laden's Man/Bush is My Man" up in their window. Not only did they own up to it, they offered me one. Apparently, they're going pretty fast, so you'd better rush on over. 232 W. Muhammed Ali Blvd. No, they can't send you one in the mail, I already asked. But, they welcome phone calls, so be sure to call them and let them know what you think of that slogan. They're number is (502) 584-7111. If you really want to let them know what you think of their "I'm a uniter"-style of politics, there' going to be a group of united people standing outside that same Louisville office today at 4 p.m. protesting such b.s. campaign rhetoric. Bush ran as a uniter in 2000 and there is little doubt that he has done a better job uniting Democrats than anyone in the past 30 years.
The plain fact of the matter is that we don't know who Osama bin Laden would support. So far, he's had pretty good luck staying alive and free under Bush's "Smoke'm Out" strategy. Of course, there'd probably be more smoke surrounding Osama if Bush hadn't moved the fire to Iraq. Boy, there sure is a lot of smoke in Iraq, though, right? We really took the fight to the terrorists by invading a country that basically enabled the worldwide terrorists network to exist. What? No connections between Iraq and Al-Qaida? Oh, that's right. I remember hearing something about that.

There are a couple things I would request:
1. If you have called the Jefferson County Republican office, THANK YOU! Please leave a comment indicating as much, if you like. If you haven't called yet, the number is (502) 584-7111. I'm sure they'd appreciate a call on Monday if you can't get to it before the weekend.
