Poll question: The Most Important Issue for You as an American?
I was thinking recently about what was MY most important issue, and I thought it would be interesting to see how others thought. About the subject, so I'm developing a poll. I'm definitely merging some things that others would probably separate, but that's the problem with only having 10 choices.

Let your opinion be known...

5. for me it's the environment, but until Bush is out ...
nothing can be done

Getting Bush out and ridding ourselves of the corporate media are the two biggest problems facing America today

6. It's gotta be BUSH OUT first.
There's ALOT of work on ALOT of issues that needs to be done, but none of it will happen unless we evict the bush regime from our government.

8. Gee...
I sure am glad I included "Getting Bush Out of Office" on the list. I didn't think it would be the number one choice.

In fact, it's somewhat unfortunate. It doesn't help promote dialogue with fence-sitters or people who personally like the man, but might be swayed on the issues...

11. Well, since Kerry is campaigning for continuing the war
...it would be hard to make that an issue, although there are quite a few libertarians, greens, and republicans who do not support this trillion-dollar-to-be war.

...and since the dems made a deal to keep from looking at the lies that led to the war, it makes it kind of hard to support dems, per se, when they fuck over those of us who want some accountability...and thus hard to convince people of the criminal nature of the entire war.

and, in fact, the dems are making a huge mistake by not going after the entire Bush crew, because, if they don't they'll be back again, retooled, to attempt another coup (if they don't pull off yet another one with voter fraud.) Just look at what happened with BCCI way back when, or Iran/Contra.

THE issue for me at this time is the FACT that Bush and his administration should be tried as war criminals.

And all those republicans in Congress who are shielding the Bush junta from impeachment and criminal charges should be another target of the dems, because it's not enough to get Bush out. We also have to get the other reich wing republicans out.

I'm waiting to see if Kerry is worth the support, frankly.

If he isn't willing to make some REAL changes in this sick, sick nation...in health care, taxes, corporate whoredom, separation of church and state, alternative energy policy...

then I'll have to settle for getting rid of Bush, and then work to get rid of the DLC via Dean's Democracy for America.

10. Upholding the Constitution
Free speech, privacy, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, right to trials, protection from unlawful searches and seizures, et cetera.

Of course, the #1 way to achieve that goal is to get those bastards out of the White House.
