Congresswoman Corrine Brown Censured by U.S. Congress
Don't know if you du'ers have seen this......but YOU SHOULD!!!!!

snip - The argument started during a debate over HR-4818. The bill would provide international monitoring of the November presidential election. Congress has been considering an outside monitor due to all the confusion over the last election, and the "hanging chads" in Florida.

Rep. Steve Buyer, R-Ind., proposed a measure barring any federal official from requesting that the United nations formally observe the U.S. elections on Nov. 2. His proposal was approved 243-161 as an amendment to a $19.4 billion foreign aid bill, with 33 Democrats joining all 210 voting Republicans in voting "yes."

What did she say? -snip - 07/16/04: Representative Brown said, "I come from Florida, where you and others participated in what I call the United States coup d'etat. We need to make sure that it doesn't happen again. Over and over again after the election when you stole the election, you came back here and said get over it. No we're not going to get over it and we want verification from the world."

9. Republicans treated C. Brown as an unruly child who needed to be punished
and so they sent this unruly child to her room, (much like Cinderella's step-mom would send Cinderella to the dungeon) without food, without light, and with the intent of shaming her and keeping the truth from shining through. THEY STRUCK HER WORDS FROM THE HOUSE RECORD!!!!!!!!!!

The Republican's boogieman is TRUTH much like the glass slipper was the boogieman for Cinderella's step-mom.

But just like Gloria Estefan's song "Rhythm is Going to Get You", Republicans ought to know that TRUTH like a boogieman IS GOING TO GET THEM SOME DAY SOON! Oh, and by the way, CORRINE BROWN ROCKS!!!!!!

13. That isn't it
The vote was completely along party lines with some members absent. That was the actual vote on the amendment, not the vote to censure unless you intended to link it to the amendment in which case that is it.

Long thread here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x688496

This is an important issue that certainly deserves a couple more threads. You can call Rep. Brown's office at 202-225-0123 to thank her for standing up for the truth.

10. Congress stomps on the sovereignty of the people
Fraud, lies, gerrymandering, and rigged votes, rule the day. Part of the fascist scheme is to make Congress and legislative bodies everywhere a cesspool of corruption where sovereignty never shows its face.

11. What we have here is ...
a Right Wing Corporatocracy. If BushCo retains power we will have a Police State in tandem with Right Wing Corporatocracy.

12. Now you see why F-9/11 started like it did!
The Republicans want to stomp out any African American who dares to stand up and be angry about what happened in Florida.
