Right Wingers trying to force Kerry/Edwards resignation from the Senate.
Don't ask me how the Hell I got on these vile shitbags' mailing list. It all goes to my spam folder, but ya know, every once in a while you gotta check to make sure it ain't filtering out REAL e mail. This was NOT one of those times, obviously......

Dear Conservative Friend,

As you know, two of the most liberal men in the U.S. Senate -- John Kerry and John Edwards -- are now the presumed nominees for the Democrats' bid for the White House. They'll be accepting their nominations in Boston this month.

RightMarch.com plans to be there... IN THEIR FACES... in more ways than one. But we need YOUR help to do it!

https://secure.cartlight.com/merchant/rightmarch/?afid=conpet

First of all, we plan to take out at least FIVE FULL-PAGE ADS in the greater Boston metro area, DEMANDING that Sens. Kerry and Edwards resign from the Senate in order to run for President and Vice President, because they're there so rarely there's no way for them to actually represent their constituents.

Sen. Edwards has missed 43 percent of Senate votes while running for President; Sen. Kerry has missed 88 PERCENT. That's simply NOT RIGHT, and the public is not being well-served.

In 1996, Republican Sen. Bob Dole of Kansas resigned his Senate seat - and his powerful post as Senate GOP leader - shortly before he formally accepted the Republican nomination for president. Shouldn't the American people insist that Kerry & Edwards have the integrity to do the same?

Adding insult to injury, according to the Boston Herald (3/1/04), "Kerry has been a virtual no-show in the U.S. Senate over the past 14 months, but he hasn't missed a paycheck," even though "federal law says some of his $158,000 salary should have been withheld." Edwards continues to cash HIS checks, too.

But, as the New York Post noted (6/16/04), "In 2000, then-Texas Gov. George Bush reimbursed his state a day's salary for every day that he was campaigning out of state and then-Lt. Gov. Rick Perry had to step in as acting governor."

Sens. Kerry and Edwards need to RESIGN NOW, and stop taking taxpayer money that they haven't earned!

Will YOU help us take out a full-page ad around the Democrat Convention in Boston, DEMANDING their resignation?

TAKE ACTION: Top Republicans in John Kerry's home state of Massachusetts have already been urging him to resign from the Senate to run for president. The North Carolina GOP has nicknamed John Edwards "Senator Gone" for constantly forgoing his duties as Senator during his "Pick-Me-For-V.P.-Tour".

John Kerry and John Edwards made a commitment to the people of Massachusetts and North Carolina -- a commitment to do a job, and a commitment to represent their states in the United States Senate. In fact, they took an oath of office. If they won't do the job they swore to do, why would we ever want them in the White House?

The overall cost of this campaign is over $50,000. We have VERY LITTLE TIME to raise enough money to place FULL-PAGE ads in Boston-area newspapers, demanding that Kerry and Edwards resign immediately. If every one of our members gave just $30 or $50, we could put those ads up NOW. But we know that many of our patriotic members just can't afford to give that much -- so some of you might be able to give more to make up for them, maybe as much as $100, $500, or even $1,000 or $2,000.

Our members have strongly supported our efforts, including several full-page USA Today ads nationwide, as well as national radio ad campaigns. PLEASE, go to our website below to make a donation TODAY -- let's make sure we stay in the FACES of the liberal Democrats, including right there in Boston:

https://secure.cartlight.com/merchant/rightmarch/?afid=conpet

If you prefer to contribute by check, please make it out to:

RightMarch.com
4850 Golden Pkwy., Suite B, #325
Dept. Code conpet
Buford, GA 30518-1712

NOTE: As an extra "perk", if Kerry resigns, his temporary replacement would be named by the governor of Massachusetts... who just happens to be a Republican! North Carolina has a Democrat governor -- but 1 out of 2 ain't bad!

And remember our wildly successful counter-protest against the radical liberals recently in Washington, D.C.? RightMarch.com is co-sponsoring another "Operation Witness" protest in Boston during the Democrat National Convention, as well as another counter-protest against the protesters in New York during the GOP Convention. We'll let you know more shortly.

By the way, if you'd like to drop a personal note to Kerry & Edwards asking them to resign from the Senate, their email address is info@johnkerry.com - have fun!

Be sure to forward this Alert to everyone you know who would like to help us take out our FULL-PAGE ADS targeting Kerry and Edwards in Boston-area newspapers. Thank you!

Now if y'all will excuse me, I think I need to take a shower after reading that. Good thing I was planning on cleaning the hard drive soon anyway. :scared:

The governor of his state, Shit Romney, a neocon puke in this case, gets to appoint a senator to finish out Kerry's term.

Of course, if Kerry is elected President, that will eventually happen anyway, since Shit isn't up for election this year :(

EDIT: Nevermind.... after reading the hate mail, the sarcasm center of my brain momentarily shut down

23. Bob Dole did
that wasn't all that long ago.

In a similar vein, when Phil Gramm switched parties, he resigned his house seat and ran in the special election as a Republican.

I think that's only fair as you were elected under false pretences. I think Campbell, Shelby and Jeffords etc should have done the same thing.

13. or to go even further...
...no sitting politician could ever run for elected office, including the one he or she currently occupies. Hey the term limits fanatics would love it, and it might break up the repuke stronghold in Congress if it was applied across the board. But it sounds problematic to me.

the taxpayers and the citizens of Massachusetts and N.Carolina. Other than Dole, I doubt if anyone has ever resigned a senate seat or a governorship to run for president.

16. Mind your own business and stay the fuck out of my state!
I have no problem with my senator, John Kerry, running for president while retaining his Senate seat. It is none of your fucking business and I'm sick of you self-important conservative dickheads trying to interfere in my state, which I consider to be one of the few sane places to live; neocons are NOT welcome.

don't they:

The overall cost of this campaign is over $50,000...

....If every one of our members gave just $30 or $50, we could put those ads up NOW.

So does that mean that their entire membership is somwhere between 1,000 to 1,666?

(Of course, I'm sure those numbers are going up those wild-eyed liberals infiltrate thier little gang :D )

btw - as one poster pointed out - bush and cheney are campaigning as well. Wonder if Kerry/Edwards should say something like "we'll resign when they do" - ?

Strom Thurmond was barely there for, like, the last 20 years of his Senator-hood. And they all just let him sit there and take up space.

Kerry/Edwards are doing something to try to help their country. More than you can say for the USA-destroying Bush/Cheney.

29. I don't think Quayle or Lieberman withdrew
Additionally, I think it takes a lot of gall with a President who's had more campaign dinners and vacations than any President to the present.

It's just the regular GOP demonization. One could say these things about a President campaigning or a Governor.

31. Kerry should offer to take Bush/Cheney up on this (Seriously!)
Edited on Fri Jul-16-04 11:14 PM by Mike Niendorff
Specifically, he should respond as follows:

"Mr. Bush and his surrogates have claimed that a candidate for the presidency cannot both *hold* public office and *campaign for* public office at the same time. So be it. I, John Kerry, hereby offer to resign my Senate seat, effective immediately, *provided* that George W. Bush *also* resigns from *his* public office, effective immediately. Then, free from the duties of our respective offices, we can fully concentrate on the presidential campaign at hand. Tell Mr. Bush and his PR team that I await their reply. Eagerly."

if Bush and Cheney would f****ing resign from the White House. If we could only be that lucky. Anyway, after Inauguration Day, Kerry will not be in the Senate any longer and Edwards will be President of the Senate.
