I think the Martha Stewart situation is bad for Republicans.
I think most people that don't really follow the news doesn't really know what she did, but they know that it's been done by others like Ken Lay, and nothing is likely to happen to them. Those two from, (where was it - Tyco?) got off, and the swing voters know that, too. I don't think most people even think Martha should be going to jail. I've seen it on the news shows tonight. They talk to "people in the street" and many of them think she should have gotten community service instead of jail, and several of them wonder why the big fish all got away. One woman even pointed out that some of them caused other people to lose their jobs and pensions and aren't gonna go to jail, while MS, who didn't do either of those two things, is.

And it's gonna bite the GOP in the ass in the end, in my opinion. What do you all think?

3. The Martha Stewart...
...thing has had all the impact it's going to have.

She got off easy, and that's because of her connections in New York.

Even I was surprised at the leniency.

6. I'm no Martha Stewart fan.
I agree that it could have been worse for her, given the sentencing guidelines, but I don't think she should have been found guilty for lying about a "crime" that she wasn't charged with. They were making an example out of her so they didn't have to go after Lay, but they still want to say they're doing something about the problem. Also, they get to point out that "another Dem" is going to jail. It must not occur to them that there would be lots and lots of Repubs going to jail is Ashcroft would get off his ass.

4. I think when she says "support me by subscribing to my magazing"
that should set off a few bells about things like greed and dignity and the house of cards that is our economy.
