This just dawned on me: Saddam has destroyed the Bush Dynasty
Remember how after Gulf War I, everyone was high-fiving everyone else, King George the First had NINETY percent approval ratings, but Saddam was still in Baghdad. The economy wasn't getting any better, and soon George I and his whining about Saddam started to grate on everyone's nerves. All he could talk about was Saddam, in that nasal annoying voice of his. Unemployment was up, we were in a recession, people didn't have jobs, and it was non-stop Saddam.

The conventional wisdom in DC was that Saddam would fall. He would be assasinated. His army would knock him off because he had lost the war and was kicked out of Kuwait. The people would rise up and overthrow Saddam.

SURPRISE. The people of the U.S. rose up and threw out George I (with a little help from that elf from Dallas).

Enter King George II. Economy sucks wind. Polls going down. China plane incident makes him look like a loser and a wimp. Hey, its time to make him a War Prezdint!!!

He invades Iraq, approval ratings go up for a time, and then the quagmire begins. Now, his ratings are going in the tank, the invasion is a delusional mess the consequences of which will take decades to straighten out. At least half the population now knows it was a huge geo-political mistake to attempt to conquer and occupy Iraq.

Saddam has beaten two Bushes out of the White House. How ironic.

8. No - Saddam didn't want Iran control of Iraq - Bush has given Iraq to Iran
I do not see any other end game.

The Shia is Iraq hate the Kurds more than they want to avoid rule by Iran Ayatollah - and the Iran army hates the Kurds as does Turkey

We pull out and 5 years later there is a nuke power controlling Iran and Iraq and perhaps also Saudi Arabia/Kuwait.

I do not think Bush has ever played chess - or even had a successful business plan

The USSC gave us the legacy "C" student druggie - because he would cut the taxes of the rich - defined as being a "conservative"

sad .... sigh .... sigh

I hope Kerry can pull a rabbit out of the hat - but I do not see any other outcome unless we are willing to station 150,000 troops in Iraq for next 30 years.

11. No, they want Iraq in one piece ...

I think they believed that one of Saddam's generals would have killed him by now. The beauty of Saddam was that he was never a fundamentalist. No belief in justice or human dignity could interfere with the bribing process. This is what the conservatives REALLY hate about Iran.

The true objective was to force a situation in which America HAD to stay. We HAVE to keep spending billions to keep the situation under control while Halliburton, Bechtel, BP, Amaco, Titan, etc... rakes in all the overpriced no bid contracts.

What I think they underestimated is the power of the alternative media to get information past their corporate controlled shill "librel" media. Information is what has hurt the Bush administration. Ultimately, the fauxndies played their hand to strongly against CBS/Viacom and that has provoked some reaction in that organization against the Bushites.

Thank god for Janet Jackson's left breast!!!!!

2. The Bush Dynasty will not be destroyed...
... until there's not a politician left amongst them. As long as there is, they'll keep coming back.

4. And now bush is calling in the Russians..
Edited on Fri Jul-16-04 09:39 PM by zidzi
I don't have a link(the link is by subscription only) but I read on another board that the bushco are negotiating with putin for 40,000 Russian soldiers in Iraq by election time ..and the "quid pro quo" is...

"Stratfor sources in the Russian Energy and Industry Ministry also say the Prime Minister's office has issued a directive to the ministry to prepare a Russian "wish list" for Washington seeking some level of quid pro quo, including steps to return Russian oil companies to Iraq and approval of Russia's joining the World Trade Organization.

Desperate times call for Desparate Measures!

10. Bush wasn't duped ...

His goal was to weaken Saddam on behalf of the Saudis. He also gained some allies among the Kuwaitis.

This is all part of a Middle East battle about WHO will control a pan-Arab state that the various players dream of. Saddam Hussein was a pawn all along. The used him to weaken Iran, than they weakened him so he couldn't oppose the Saudis.

Saddam of course, wanted to rule the Middle East. And I'm sure that the conservatives egged him on all the way. He was a convenient stooge just like Noriega.
