anti-Arab racism in the Democratic Party in another thread. Soon disruptors appeared and accused me of being anti-white and anti-Semitic. It was subsequently locked. Disruptors won by shutting down discussion, so threads like this are what I have to resort to. Not a troll, just a concerned Arab-American.

Like any group of people, there are people of many ilk around here. Some carry less than unbiased opinions as it were.

There are probably a few chickenhawks, racists, homophobes, anti-semites , anti-Christian, or what have you around here.

It doesn't necessarily warrant an accusatory thread where people get all bent out of shape with one another.

Fact is, we probably have less of all of the above than most groups, or so I'd like to think.

But the fact remains that I tried to open an honest discussion on anti-Arab racism in the Democratic Party, 2 disruptors entered, then the thread was locked. It was like handing a victory to the disruptors, saying we can't talk about this on DU. I don't expect everyone to agree with my viewpoints, I expect some heated debate, but I don't expect important issues to be summarily shut down.

I remember one thread I alerted on a couple of REALLY nasty anti-Muslim bigots, and a mod later thanked me for it.
