Lockdown at Los Alamos

1. From today's Albuquerque Journal online:
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 08:05 AM by phiddle
SANTA FE— Laboratory director Pete Nanos has taken the "extraordinary step" of suspending all work at Los Alamos, an action provoked by the recent malfunctions in security and safety procedures at the vaunted nuclear weapons facility.

Yesterday's news (your quote) referred to "all classified work", whereas it has apparently been broadened today to include "all work". One has to subscribe to read more, and I refuse to buy that right-wing rag.

Looks like Congressman Joe Barton is heading down there to survey the situation on Monday.

Some intern fried his eye with a laser. Ooops

3. At the rate they lose stuff there, they might as well just take the locks
off the doors and just let anyone who wants help themselves.
