The next Bush campaign ad is out...
BUSH'S VOICE: "I'm George Dubya Bush, and I approved this message."

NARRATOR: On September 11, 2001, John Kerry piloted the planes that slammed into the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and a field in northern Pennsylvania.

After President Bush's Thanksgiving visit to the troops in Iraq, John Kerry went there and made our soldiers eat the plastic turkey that the President used for his photo op.

And while there, John Kerry confiscated every bulletproof vest given to protect our Iraqi troops. All twelve of them.

During the Vietnam War, John Kerry had the nerve to take a bullet so that he could relax in a hospital while his fellow soldiers remained in the line of fire.

And during his years as a Senator, John Kerry personally performed thousands of abortions to terminate pregnancies.

Can we afford to have this kind of leadership?

______________________________________________________________________

It's getting about this ridiculous. Has Bush launched any campaign ad which lists the positive things he has accomplished as a businessman, as governor of Texas, or as President of the U.S.? If he has, I haven't seen it. They've all made some distorted comment about things Kerry voted on, which have been misleading at best and outright lies at worst. He'll be spending over $200 million on his campaign, and for what? I think it's a reflection on how he handles the federal budget.

If I was politically objective and undecided on who to vote for, I would be wondering why Bush's ads don't contain anything positive.

1. and what positive things could bush say?
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 07:14 AM by daveskilt
his superb handling of the economy?, the war?, education?, the environment?, military funding?, healthcare?, public diplomacy?

attacking his opponent is all he has left and all he knows how to do.

hell he couldn't even manage to be a bigot successfully with the failure of his discrimination amendment

3. all the bush* commercials I have seen
bash Kerry

---haven't seen ONE commercial where bush* highlights his accomplishments --- ummm could it be because bush* doesn't have a postive record to run on?

4. If You Were Politcally Objective?
The thing is, many politcially objective people aren't so intelligent or educated or analytical as you apparently are. They just see negative ads, hear the GOP and Bush camp repeat outrageous distortions and lies about Kerry and then they believe it.

Few people question WHY an incumbent would run a negative campaign rather than highlighting his accomplishments. Bush has had some positive ads, but most of them bash Kerry and the only thing we hear about Bush is that he approved the ad.

5. WELL!!!
Just when you think Bushco can't knock the wind out of you anymore; or step on your last nerve--darn if he doesn't manage to do so!

He must have had years of very good training while growing up in his parents' household--where it seems that 'stepping on your last nerve' is cause for celebration for the bushes...

Who, if not the cockroaches, is this latest bushco ad appealing to? pea-sized brain cockroaches-that's who!:evilfrown:  :wtf: :nuke:

7. The Pollsters Keep Saying...
Remember when Bunnypants claimed he didn't read the polls (slam at Clinton) in how he did things (bullshit!!)...these ads are following the standard GOOP slash & burn tactics of throwing so much shit that eventually either something's gonna stick or it's gonna get over everyone and no one will want to have anything to do with either of them.

The GOOP is spending a good chunk of Georgie's ill-gotten campaign booty on all sorts of polling, focus groups and opposition research that they're rolling out like a sledgehammer. Yeah, every add bashes Kerry, but Mr. GOOP Marketing says that these aren't "negative", they're "contrast" commercials...showing Mr. Kerry's limitations...assuming the viewer believes that Bunnypants has those qualities. If you don't buy into this assumption (like we don't)...screw us...we aren't the people they want to reach. But, if you are one who thinks that Bunnypants has done even a semi-good job (anything over 40 percent in approval polls...thus the key to that number) these Kerry slam commercials can be highly effective.

Rememberl, Bunnypants is the "defender" in this game. We know his record and his base will defend it to the literal death. They've fabricated a lie for every charge we bring, and will counter new ones, initially, with things like media bias or some other diversion.

My hope is there's enough fed up people who either can see through this shit or just are starting to feel emboldened to come out against this regime and not be afraid to do so. This is our greatest hope...and I approve this message!

8. "He doesn't have a record to run on"
"He has a record to run away from" - some Democrat said this

And I think it was Adlai who said "Let's make a deal with the Republicans. If they promise to stop telling lies about us, we'll stop telling the truth about them"

12. I read a USA Today
article in which they were analyzing the negative content of both bush and Kerry's ads and it said that bush has something like five TIMES more negative "attack" ads than Kerry.

That's why I get so het up when an uninformed bush supporter (did I just repeat myself?) says Kerry is too negative.

Hello? Take head out of ass for one second, maybe?

13. but in fairness
Fox News did say they wouldn't run this ad ... because it left out how Kerry goes around and steals kittens from little girls and drowns them ... they felt that should be included if the ad was going to be fair and balanced

17. And it was Kerry who destroyed Bush's military record.
That's why we don't know about his 10 purple hearts he won in the Texas Air National Guard.
