Celebritys the Repugs should run
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 11:36 AM by Brian Morans
Ditka's out. The Nuge was floated, but laughed off stage (no news there). The Repugs seem to think running has-been celebs is the key to winning around the country.

Let's have some nominations for other celeb washouts they can run. Which segment of the conservative American psyche would they appeal to? They don't have to actually be republicans, just desperate enough for the limelight to sell their souls.

Here are some starters:

Andrew Dice Clay - no explanation needed

Ron Jeremy - porn-loving patriots would vote for him in a money-shot

Chris Walken - not a washout, but perfect for the job. He played that guy in The Dead Zone who knew when people were in danger.. I'm thinking head of homeland security. A real Cassandra.

Jean-Claude van Damme - sounds French, but he loves violence and vastly disproportionate retribution.

"Face" Peck (A-Team) - Glib, superficial, charming, great manipulator with total lack of remorse. Terrible shot, though.

Let's get a list going!

1. The Nuge was laughed off the stage?
I would love to see some news on that. I had no idea that Christopher Walken was a Republican.

4. Well, the idea was more humorous than realistic.

As I said, they don't have to be republican. Just actors/characters whom the pugs could exploit for a particular trait that would trigger a pavlovian response in the conservative psyche.

I think you've hit on something here. This is what they think of the American public psyche. :silly:
