Is the U.S. Constitution dead for all practical purposes at the
hands of Bush and his rubberstamp Congress? Are we living imaginary lives in an imaginary democracy where men in power do not seem to be elected legally and conduct wars without obtaining congressional authority and resist all accountability and transparency? And a press made up of yes men relegated to repeating statements fed by the powerful?

Hermann Goering would have relished the prospect of his prediction coming true so early by historic standards. That we are no different from the Nazis when it comes to becoming obedient, unquestioning followers of the misfits, thugs and barbarians who rule over us today.

1. There is a sense of unreality about it all, IMHO
Like maybe we've crossed over into some version of the Twilight Zone. But your reference to Goering's prediction jerks me back to the real world. That is truly disturbing, that we could become all those negative adjectives you just listed (I shudder at the word "Nazi"). Let us strive like crazy, with every ounce of our being, to assure this does NOT happen here. Our Constitution is alive and we must make sure it stays that way.

Fight on!

2. No, not dead. Just in critical condition and on life support. It's up to
the American public to ensure that it survives.

3. Supreme Court
If we dont win this election the constitution will not survive the next four years. Already 5 members have no regard for the document.
