2. The Senator Byrd who spoke out against war in Iraq

when no one else would and did so magnificently, with eloquence and strength of conviction seldom heard.

The Senator Byrd who, at age 83 or so, singlehandedly filibustered against the war, speaking for hours and hours, quoting poetry, reading the Constitution.

He'll always be a hero to many of us for that, no matter what he does.

The most valiant thing I've ever witnessed was Byrd fighting this illegal war.

I look forward to watching him deal with Timmy the Whore on Beat the Press.
