"At the end of the session,

Bush reportedly told the group, “I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn’t do my job.’’"

14. After Nixon resigned,
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 07:41 PM by charlyvi
Ford refused to allow his indictment--he said the country had been through too much with Watergate and it needed to heal. Seeing a former President go through a criminal trial was not what America needed. I think he was right.

Of course, Watergate is small potatoes compared to preemptive war based on false evidence, coercion of sources, wrong cost estimates, etc. So, I don't really know how Kerry would handle that. Scary times, huh?

Sorry--this post is in answer to #12. One day, I'll get the hang of this!

10. Anyone who looks forward to The Rapture is unfit for leadership.
This is a point missed by so many, in my opinion.

Bush believes in the end of the world, and has the power to bring it about. If he truly believes that God is his pilot, then I suppose we're all doomed.

22. Beware of false prophets.
How do you tell a false prophet? A true prophet is NEVER wrong. Therefore, Mr. "Iraqis will welcome us with open arms" is a false prophet. God does NOT speak through him. He does probably speak to him, though. It's the little voice in the back of his head saying "REPENT AND RESIGN!".

28. If Bush speaks to God.....did he get the information as to the whereabouts
of the WMD in Iraq??

And, I suppose, if he really talks to GOD, he wouldn't be in any political troubles now....would he? All the right answers to any hard questions would be available to him. and in addition, Divine Guidance is infallible....DG don't suck and it don fuck up....

So this notion of bush talking to God? ...judging by the lack of success.... can mean only one thing....

He is full of SHIT.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A37944-2003Jun26?language=printer

"God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam < Hussein>, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them."
