Have you seen this person?
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 10:49 PM by vetwife
This person used to spend lots of time with family and friends.
Used to laugh and joke a lot !
Never worried about money that much !
Wasn't cosumed and obssesed with ridding the country of a man warmongering !
Never spent all their time on computers and talking and walking and protesting and learning from Political sources everything they can
get into grasp !
Never looked for good paying jobs or a job period.
Never seeked out shelters for people.
Rarely brought strangers in their home for food and shelter, wasn't necessary.
NEver woke up worrying about the future.
Never felt hopeless and helpless !
Have you seen this person ? I want this person back...NOW !

1. My Letter To The Kerry Campaign
www.johnkerry.com/onlinehq/mediacorps/yourstory.php

------

Dear Mr Kerry,

I used to believe in the American dream - stay out of trouble, get an
education, serve your country, and work hard with success virtually
guaranteed.

I used to believe that this country was for everyone not just the
wealthy and powerful.

I used to believe that our institutions mattered and that they
represented a tradition of honesty and integrity not a haven for
partisan politics and special interests.

I used to believe that we could make a difference in the world by
example not through lies, threats, torture and war.

I no longer believe.

Now unemployed for four years, I have come to understand that
America is a sham, nothing more than a racket for the ultra-wealthy
to extract their pound of flesh from people like myself. Once exploited,
we become little more than roadkill on the corporate super highway
- discarded like yesterday's news.

The America that I grew up believing in is dead, replaced by cabal of
avarice, deceit and deception all designed to benefit those who have
at the expense of those that have not.

I honestly don't know you Mr. Kerry and can say that you are not
speaking to the issue that matters most to me, a fair and equitable
America.

A nation that understands we are stronger when all
citizens share the fruits of our collective work and sacrifice. A nation that
emphasizes our shared experience and beliefs. An America that puts
people before profits, nation before corporation, and society before economy.

Maybe you can make a change. I hope that to be true.

Many of us would like to believe again.

Sincerely,

MHR

2. Isn't that the truth.
Edited on Sat Jul-17-04 11:03 PM by kikiek
I said to someone today when Clinton was in office we had respect around the world. We had more jobs than people to fill them. We had good wages and jobs with benefits. We had people who cared about our environment. The crime rates were decreasing. More kids were going to college. We were successful. One of the 1st things Bush said was everything Clinton did was wrong. He said he would do the opposite of everything Clinton did, and he went to work. Well what's the opposite of success..failure. That's one promise he has kept. He has failed us. Things weren't perfect. We were in a position though to fight to improve things even more. Now we are fighting for our basic needs. I think we are exactly where they want us to be.

7. I was sitting here last night thinking of who I was
and jotted down just a few things that I am no more.
It is so funny, I helped veterans always but I had the energy and
the drive and this site keeps me keeping on. I want my life back.
I will continue helping vets, but I am so caught up in day to day cuts, and things that you all are experiencing with rising costs, and fuel and the war and that affects the veterans, somedays I know I am an untter Bitch to be around. I want my life back. This has been the worst year I have ever known. My Mother died last part of April, my dad went toatally blind, my son has been out of work so long, I have republican family who don't even bother to call and I have quit my traditional church when they let me down during all of this. I have gone into cyberspace and do the rest when I can. My neighbors are mostly right winged, I have been run off the road,(kerry sticker) had my Kerry sign destroyed and friends who were once my friends are very very scarce. Like John Edwards said, One disaster away from going off the cliff. We went off the cliff ! Thanks ya'll.
