Young Marine who lost arm in Iraq: "The war is bull----"
From this morning's Lancaster Sunday News, Lancaster, PA... about a Marine two years out of high school... entitled "His sacrifice: Just two years out of Penn Manor High School, a Marine loses his arm in Iraq. He talks of combat and his feelings about war."

http://www.lancasteronline.com/pages/news/local/6/7592

...snip...

"... I love the Marine Corps to death,” he said, “but I’m still entitled to my own opinion.”

Long before he was wounded, when Iraqis asked him why he was there, when he watched people die before his eyes, his views about the conflict changed.

“The war is bull----,” he said. “You go over there looking for weapons of mass destruction. You get Marines getting blown up by pipe bombs.”

He said he wishes his sacrifice could have been for a better cause."

I will pray, pray, pray for this young man. George W. Bush owes him such a massive apology. This makes me cry.

1. I thank him for his service, but MUCH more for his speaking out
I hope his courage sparks an outcry from other Marines!

2. Did Bush visit him this week, or just the Amish?

To tell them that God "speaks through him"? He was in the same neighborhood after all.

7. Just these two simple sentences by a young Marine boils it ALL down.
“The war is bull----,” he said. “You go over there looking for weapons of mass destruction. You get Marines getting blown up by pipe bombs.”

9. Since there are a few Lancaster-related threads tonight ...
I thought you might like to see this touching story of a very young, wounded and disillusioned soldier.
