Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 11:12 AM by rchsod
of losing a 1=10 investment? plus the dvd sales hasn`t even started.. just think a blockbuster movie that costs over maybe 100 or 150 million would have to make -how much?-to equal f911

5. I don't know...I read that disney and Miramax were going |
|
to donate their profits to charity..so I'm not sure what to make of that. But on a historic note..disney sure is the loser.

the moderators will kindly allow just one punctuation mark for each of the 100 previous f9/11 threads (at least it seems like there's been thousands of them . . . )

I just love this. The greedy bastards at Disney are probably crying in their porfolios right about now.
The movie is STILL playing and the DVD hasn't even been released yet! WooHoo!

14. I'm actually more excited for the brave theater owners |
|
who decided to run the movie. They had to take a lot of heat for being so "brazen". I'm sure they were biting their nails at the dinner table the night of the premiere.
I hope they show record profits. I laughed when the movie was turning out to be a winner, and other theater owners were screaming that they, too, wanted to show it.
Michael Moore was not that interested in the money. He sold the rights to the movie for $9 million, so he basically gave it away. He wanted the exposure, more than anything else.
As far as Disney is concerned, they probably felt they had MUCH more to lose than they stood to gain. To them, losing $100 million was still preferable to what the Evil Bushco would do to them if they were to run it.
Jeb Bush is giving them huge tax breaks, and they run by fear, not innovation. It's pitifully obvious with them.
