So who went to an OUTFOXED house party?
Just got back from a house party for the new documentary OUTFOXED. I went to a Society of Friends Meeting House in Chapel Hill. The place was packed! There must have been about 130 people there! Lots of laughter at O'Reilly's expense.

What were the experiences in your area? Did you listen to the conference call afterwards?

1. Just got back and I loved it!!!
Not Fox, but the documentary!!!

While CNN/MSGOP/CNBC/Headlinenews/Washingtonpost are bad,
Fox is just HORRIFIC!!!

Fox "News" Channel is the "Nazifacation" of America.

:scary:

8. You sign up at MoveOn.org
and you show up. Most of the ones I have been to have been very well attented. You can plug in your zip code and see the various parties happening around you. Pick one. Or have one.

There is a host who introduces the film and there is usually a sign up sheet going around.

I've loved all the MoveOn.org events I've been to.

2. The local house parties filled up fast and didn't have that many openings
to begin with. My local Democratic Club is planning to get the tape for us to see.

3. About 30 people in Dayton...
Edited on Sun Jul-18-04 09:30 PM by gmoney
A good group, but most people didn't listen to the conference call... were too busy chatting about the movie. There was another group in the area that was supposed to have about 25 people there.

I spent about half the time watching the movie resisting the urge to just flip off the screen with both hands... it was really disgusting in a riveting sort of way... probably have to go ahead and buy it.

5. Went to one here in town
A nice older house, a lesbian couple, one of whom has done numerous good things in our community, and about 15-20 people in the house. We listened to the call, and we discussed the film and even got into a discussion about Clear Channel. We all decided that the two networks are basically interchangeable and must be stopped. At least three people answered the call by the guy from FAIR to volunteer at least 10 hrs. a week to try and put a stop to the madness. All in all, an interesting night.

6. About that 10 hours
I volunteered too, but I'm not quite sure what that will entail at this point.

We touched on Clear Channel as well.

7. Went in Columbus Ohio
Nice crowd, met some interesting people. It was an interesting move to have the movie shown in this way. The movie was good but not as great as 'Orwell Rolls in his Grave' -- I saw an advance copy last week and was blown away because the subject was the media generally and not only Fox news.

9. Just got back
froma house party in Saratoga Springs. About 15 people, all committed Dems. Wish there had been some Repubs there as we all knew the stuff and needed no convincing. The host couldn't get the conference call on her Mac so we sort of listened on a cell phone. Needless to say we didn't get much of that. Was the conference call good?
I found the end when they talked about how the other networks were imitating them most interesting. We have to stop the spread. We all see it on CNN but we have to make it not work for them somehow.

10. Went to the Boulder Theater
where it was booked as a MoveOn house party, but was really just a film showing. Anyway, by the time I got there, the line was huge and doubled over, and having signed up on MoveOn meant nothing. I think about half the people didn't get in, including me. They hastily arranged to have a second showing and I went ahead and bought a ticket for that.

Right now I'm just waiting till it's time to go back to the theater. I hope we get to hear the conference call, if there was one.

11. About 40 peepul

I expected 20. Movie had far less impact than Fahrenheit. But Murdoch exposure was good. And a reporter was there to write a story in the local big rag. Not bad.

the conference call. Computer issues.

13. Went to a bar in Jersey City NJ
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 12:05 PM by rocknation
that had all 87 of it spots filled. Out of fear of getting stuck in either the rainstorms or traffic going into Manhattan, I arrived before 6:30 and was dismayed to find the place sparsely populated. I chatted with a guy from Manhattan who was rejoicing that he could legally smoke in the bar, and I wanted so much to get on the microphone and ask, "Are there any DU-ers in the house?"

By showtime, however, it was packed with at least 100. There was much hilarity, and an extra cheer went up when Eric Clapton's name rolled by in the closing credits. The part that got to me was hearing it confirmed that other stations were put under orders to have have more right wing guests than left-wing ones. I saw the opening of the conference call, but when I learned there would be a second one for the West Coasters, I decided to head home and catch that one.
