Senator Byrd Takes on George Bush in New Book
<Senator Byrd Takes on George Bush in New Book

Speaking of new books critical of George Bush and his administration, Senator Robert Byrd has a new book out entitled, Losing America: Confronting a Reckless and Arrogant Presidency.

Publisher's Weekly says that Byrd's book is "a searing criticism, informed by Byrd's knowledge of history, leavened with his vast experience and written with his legendary rhetorical flourish." Byrd argues, says PW, that the Bush administration is "systematically, relentlessly and with stubborn arrogance making a mockery of through subterfuge, warmongering and intimidation of a Congress that is 'cowed and deferential.'">

2. Maybe I'm missing part of the story, but I will not support a man
who voted yes to the procedural bill that would amend the Constitution to ban gay marriage. I lost a lot of respect for him.

3. Byrd
has always been against GLBT people and atheists. (possibly a few other groups) He is NOT socially liberal. Never has been.

He said a lot that needed to be said regarding Iraq. Although that doesn't make up for his bigotry I see nothing wrong with spreading the word regarding iraq and the bush admin.
