I just saw "The Corporation" and "Control Room"
Both were excellent.

The Corporation was especially good- very thorough, and I particularly enjoyed the contributions by Moore and Chomsky.

Control Room just made me embarassed to be an American. Toward the end I couldn't even watch anymore, the Americans were so ridiculous and hypocritical. I was holding my head in my hands.

They were certainly worth the two and a half hour drive to Chicago.

That's all. :)

1. The Control Room
gives such insight into the emotional and conflicting views of the war through a different lens. At the beginning of the movie, they introduce the U.S. Press Officer in CentCom, Lieutenant Josh Rushing, dedicated to the cause of helping the country and its people. At the end of the film, his sincerity seems to diminish, a transition captured by his emotions. After 14 years in the military, he is retiring and was forbidden to speak about this film.

Another person in the film was journalist, Hassan Ibrahim. He brought such wisdom and insight with his years of reporting and perspective from the ME. From the beginning, he tries to explain the difficulty and pain of war.

I was deeply troubled after watching this but it makes me more determined to end the insanity.

posted this on another thread too but wanted to add that I can't wait to see The Corporation.

2. Good call...
I didn't like Rushing to begin with, then he got better, then toward the end he got REALLY bad again...when he and Ibrahim were talking at the end was when I couldn't even watch. Rushing was so ridiculous.

3. At the end, I don't thing Lt. Rushing had
the passion anymore, he was struggling with the press. I am sure this is the reason he ended his 14 year career with the military and is retiring. He believed in the cause, at the end, he chose to walk away.
