A Catholic parishoner sums it all up........ |
|
I got my Catholic newsletter, and the article was about the Church denying communion to politicians who are pro-aboriton.
The priest asked a parishoner about his feelings on the matter. The parishoner told the priest "Well, it seems to me that if YOU guys were doing YOUR jobs this would be a non-issue anyway. Whatchya blaming this all on the politician for anyway? This is YOUR failure, not his, why don't you look in the mirror first?
Apparently, the preist conceded that man had a good point.

1. that is the point millions of people miss |
|
it is not up to the schools, etc to teach these things it is up to the churches .they can`t complain if they do nothing to improve the product..singing 400 years old songs just don`t make it anymore..and for the priests-clean your houses of the child molesters not just putting them in another house to rape young boys. it is the churches failure.

2. Did the article really use "pro-ABORTION"? |
|
Who the hell is pro-abortion? No one wants any to have to have an abortion. Pro-choice people simply want this particular medicala procedure to be safely performed and that the woman does not have to fear the possibility of arrest upon leaving hospital/clinic.
I'm sure we all agree that if we just make it illegal, that will be the end of it. Just like how we solved rape and murder.

basically the same thing- he was against abortion but he did not want to return to the days pre Roe when there was so much death and injury to women- I'm thinking he said that the church wasn't doing its job since Catholic women seek abortions at a similar rate as the general population.

4. I don't think Kerry said that last part. |
|
In this Washington Post article on his comments on this issue: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A27920-2004Jul4.html?nav=rss_politicshe doesn't say the Catholic Church isn't doing enough to persuade people, and that doesn't sound like something a politician would say.
