Michael Moore Ruins Bush's Vacation
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/19/politics/campaign/19letter.html?ex=1247976000&en=4c5cc76c3bc79f12&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland
When a Campaign Intrudes on Vacation

President Bush has spent the last three Augusts at his ranch in the scorched flatlands of Crawford, Tex.,..... In a summer when Michael Moore's film "Fahrenheit 9/11" is attacking Mr. Bush for spending 42 percent of his first eight months in office on vacation instead of worrying about Al Qaeda (Mr. Moore's calculation came from The Washington Post), the image of Mr. Bush lazing away August on his 1,600 acres was not one that Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's chief political adviser, particularly relished.

So Shrub has to cut down his month-long vacation this year to only two weeks because of big bad Michael Moore and his movie.

1. I had been wondering if they were going to try to do that
Me thinks Georgie is gonna get cranky without his playtime.

3. I was wondering about this the last couple days.
I can't believe that he is going to be taking any vacation. I wonder if they will have him walking off an airplane with a briefcase again.

4. Maybe he'll catch up on reading those Presidential Daily Briefs
Nah, he's never worked a full day in his life, why start in August.

Instead, he'll just go out and raise more campaign money.

5. That's OK. It's payback for him vacationing while 9/11 was planned. - n/t

7. that time off at Crawford were "working vacations"
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 09:24 AM by cosmicdot
they told us so.

Heck, I remember the first summer, 2001, they told us he had a FAX machine to prove it would be a working vacation; and, not planning to M911HOP so stop saying that ...

... and, he even did a stem cell we-think-it-was-live-prime-time-broadcast (although it looked like daylight through the window behind him ... but, that was so long ago) ...

... and, FAUX and CNN confirm these Crawford (aka wish-we-had-called-Crawford-this-after-thought-name, Prairie Chapel) working vacations for them ... it's been in writing:

from CNN Transcript
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0208/10/cst.01.html

"...In Crawford, Texas where he's working on a working vacation, pRresident Bu$h ... He left his Crawford ranch about 6:30 to play golf. He teed off about 7:30, jumped out of the golf cart to answer some questions from the pool reporter, reiterated the U.S. position that there's no timetable to make a decision on military action..."

FDR had his 'Fireside Chats' to keep fear at bay ...

Shrub Wad Bu$h has his 'Working Vacations' to keep fear alive.

Just because he's out sweating this summer like all appointed incumbents always do in order to get re-selected, it doesn't mean he isn't on vacation ... he's always on vacation.

I think it was this past Easter's "working vacation", that we saw pictures of Smirk sitting in a room with actual video-conferencing equipment ... so, he had to have used it ... the Media told us that he video-conferenced with the National Security Administration, even though the NSA head was sitting next to him in the room ... plus, with technology that has been around since the mid-1980s ... he could monitor progress in Iraq while on vacation ...

I'm sure Bob Boudelang will take the team lead on this issue if asked, and given equal time.
