Earnhardt Jr. Burned in Crash...Bushistas involved?
After his defection, suddenly a nasty crash!!!???

Earnhardt Jr. recovering after suffering burns

Associated Press

SONOMA, Calif. - A fun weekend of racing for Dale Earnhardt Jr. turned frightening Sunday when a wreck during a warmup for an American Le Mans Series race turned his car into a fireball, leaving him hospitalized with burns on his face and legs.

4. I told my wife yesterday
If Dale Earnhard came out and said something like: "I support John Kerry 100% - My father would have too." the election would just be O-V-E-R the GOP would just have to fold up the Bush/Cheney campaign and start planning for 2008. Insane, but true.

5. What was the total burn time....
I saw a clip on TV and it looked really bad....second degree on his face....but he's OK.
They have the dodge hemi pickup that races to the scene with 250 lbs of foam to put out a car fire I think....and it takes maybe a half minute to get there...
Bottom line is I guess they're happy with the systems....much better than the old days...
Actually...they're probably more worried about saving the track than anything else....

6. GM sponsors the Pratt & Miller Corvette
Junior asked if he could drive at Sears Point/ Infineon Raceway in his week off from NASCAR Nextel Cup competition.

Last time NASCAR raced at Sears Point road course the announcers mentioned that Junior had taken his crew to see Michael Moore's Farenheit 911 movie because, regardless of political ideology, he thought it would be a good bonding experience.

Remember the target of Michael Moore's first popular documentary, Roger and I? Roger Smith, longtime CEO of General Motors, who was made to appear as extremely greedy and uncaring about the factory workers.

I have watched many races with accidents and never seen a similar fire for such a mild accident in the past 15 years.

So many coincidences make me wonder: if you criticise the powers that be, are you going to get burned?
