Warning: the next attack is being telegraphed as "Made in Tehran."
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 02:07 PM by Minstrel Boy
The 9/11 commission announces Iranian ties to the attacks.

Bush says he'll "look into" Iran-al Qaeda links.

The talking point surfaces, "Did we attack the wrong country?"

Israeli preparation for an attack on Iranian nuclear sites is complete.

And coming up, this Summer or Fall: the promised Next Attack.

How do you think it's going to be spun? Any guesses where the fingers will point?

Will Americans fall for it again?

Afghanistan - Iraq - Iran. Third time's the charm?

2. Of course Americans will fall for it again
The "History" Channel and Discovery will run retrospectives on the fall of the Shah and the hostage crisis. "News" reports will begin emphasizing how the Iranians long to be "free" of their repressive regime, and how badly Iranian women are treated. They'll trot out their puppet Powell to explain that Iran is a "threat" to its neighbors, to Israel, and the whole world.

Won't take much to get the war frenzy whipped up again--everyone knows that radical Islamists are plotting world domination and the only good "raghead" is a dead one, after all.

Rumsfeld: No Plans to Invade fill in the blank
Friday, fill in the blank, 2004

WASHINGTON — The United States has no plans to invade fill in the blank or any other country, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Friday, but he refused to discuss the Bush administration's thinking about how to deal with fill in the blank's leader, fill in the blank.

Saying it would be "dumb" to publicly discuss military planning, Rumsfeld declined to address news reports that top military leaders had expressed strong reservations about launching a large military operation to oust fill in the blank.
>snip<

Bush and his cabinet members have made no secret of their desire to see fill in the blank toppled, calling the fill in the blank leader a dangerous tyrant trying to arm himself with a chemical, biological and nuclear arsenal. But Bush said during a visit to fill in the blank this week that he has no fill in the blank invasion plans on his desk.

4. Let's see if the administration makes a real move first.
To be honest with you, I don't think that they're in the mood for another war.

And you can be sure that invading Iran would be NOTHING like invading Iraq was. Iran would be a REAL war.

12. Maybe not "how smart?" but "how passive?"
What His Chimperial Highness does is act boldly. He is a superb poker player and master of the bluff. He KNEW that all he had to do was to get us into Iraq on ANY pretense, in order for us to be stuck there indefinitely.

Iran is part of the PNAC plan. You can't take out Iraq, and not take out Iran -- and then Syria.

His Chimperial Highness has kinda been honest about his ambitious plans for the region, when he talks about "a generational challenge," although it isn't clear that most people really understand exactly what he means when he says this.

I would say that 99% of the people backing the invasion of Iraq buy into the PNAC plan, and will go along with an invasion of Iran et al., although I think the inevitability of a military draft bugs them, although I guess they are HOPING that continuing employment shortages will aid voluntary enlistment.

It may be a teensy more challenging for His Chimperial Highness to scare everyone about an imminent attack on US soil carried out by Iran, but he will try it, and many stooges will buy into it, and other stooges will just sit back and watch and hope they're not being fooled again.

And somehow, Cuba is going to be drawn into this. The chimpministration has already accused them of manufacturing biological weapons, and even deploying them against the US (West Nile disease), and now is attempting to rouse people with accusations of sex slavery carried out by the Cuban government.

War. It's what the NeoCons have wanted. They have waited decades for an all out world war, and are drooling over the prospect of initiating one. They are still very firmly in power -- witness the claim of the recent commission that it was only the CIA that is responsible for incorrect info on Iraq, when all last year the NeoCons claimed that the CIA was incompetent because it was *missing* the role of Iraq in international terror; they have been decrying the CIA for decades, and the "findings" of the commission conveniently delivered the same conclusions. Hmmm. Still in power, they will press for widening of the war -- because they have a long term regional strategy -- which involves the overthrow of other countries -- like Iran.

People really need to THINK carefuily in the months leading to the elections whether they wish the US to be deeply involved in war for the foeseeable future.

15. that's one of the best encapsulations of them i've read here yet
very nice.

all i would add is that i think they've figured out that in order to get everyone on-board with the draft, we need a new attack and enemy. and i give them a tiny, tiny bit more credit than some here- i think they'll have a "new product" meme that is significantly different than those used in iraq...probably lots about the threat to israel, and the "democratic" desires of the "students" or something like that.

but of course, many americans will go along with whatever the chimp's crew tells them. sigh.

9. It would be a real war....and we'd be in the middle of 2 or 3 fronts, too.
This could be an absolute disaster for our troops. I suspect that tactical battlefield nukes would make their debut here.

People better understand that this administration is absolutely desperate to maintain power and escalating ME tension into WW3 is well within their MO to accomplish their domestic objective of declaring martial law to further their personal agendae.

23. Israel might do the heavy lifting against Iran, Bush* just cash in on it.
The neocons aren't going to unclench from Iraq to take on a new war front. But they will have Israel tag-team in to cover their butts by attacking Iran.

Fucking pro-wrestling with live ordnance.

Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 02:35 PM by Neshanic
The Whitehouse has a copy of a room service bill for a Mr.Goldfinger who happened to be at a Tehran hotel. The bill was for a yellow cake with frosting. That cake hates our freedom.

11. They are setting up the STORYLINE for the next "attack(tm)", but
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 02:45 PM by FoeOfBush
this one will be "thwarted" by bush*co, at least he part that was supposed to have hit here. I see they are bringing Israel along on this ride and I suspect that whatever assurances Sharon got from bush*co, he is unaware that they will gladly cheney him over for their plan.

bush*co, contrary to what is said, CANNOT afford to be proven incompetent by having an actual attack take place here again. They can however set up a scenario whereby they claim, and the media dutifully reports, their success at stopping an imminent attack. But even then that alone would be too obvious. So they have to have the "attack(tm)" succeed somewhere else at the same time they "foil" it here. It appears Sharon may be the dupe and Iran the patsy.

14. It's all PNAC 101
And our intrepid media STILL has not let the American people know what PNAC is.

PNAC just happens to be running the country, they have stated their goals clearly, yet maybe 4% of Americans have ever heard of them.

How's that for journalism?

Can't we sue them for malpracttice, or incompetence?

20. Israel attacks Iran for it's nuclear reactor in October. Iran retaliates
against the US by invading Iraq and cutting our supply line into Kuwait. Check out this link as this guy thinks it's totally possible.

21. Bomb first
then bully. Simply because it was done before by the Israelis with the unbderstanding that it can be done with impunity. Iran will have to sit back and take it. The usual idiots will have to go along since the UN and US is falling again into the same "justification" trap and taking out reactors is somehow not the same as invasion.

Of course, the real goal is for someone, somewhere, please, oh please, to
knock the chip off Bush's shoulder by striking back in such a way as to rally the US voters behind him.

This is the result of allowing the obvious plans to go unimpeded until the moment the bomb is gleefully dropped.

22. Iran,Syria and Iraq Insurgents
Is it possible that an Israeli strike on Iran's Nuke facilities could cause Iran and Syria to send in ground troops to join the Iraqi insurgency and that Iran will call for the Iraqi Shi'ites to rise up and fight the Occupation and the US Puppet Govt. of Iraq?
