1. Looks like BushCo has decided Iran will be war number 3.
It was a close call there for awhile between Iran and Syria, but it seems like Iran gets to be third.

18. It's the oil...
Iran has a lot more oil than Syria.

End of story.

2. Last week, North Korea practically boasted of having a nuclear weapons...
...program. They said that yes, many of their nuclear programs are intended to support weapons research.

Are nukes somehow more dangerous if possessed by a country with vast oil reserves?

9. Vast oil reverses (play on words)
Are nukes somehow more dangerous if possessed by a country with vast oil reserves?<<

Vast oil reverses the thought processes of otherwise somewhat sane individuals.

then again... with all that oil lying around and stuff... one could slip and accidentally hit the "go" button and do an unintended launch... just like what almost happened in the Soviet Union in I think 1996....

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/missileers/falsealarms.html
The Cuban missile crisis is the best-known example of narrowly avoiding nuclear war. However, there are at least four other less well-known incidents in which the superpowers geared up for nuclear annihilation. Those incidents differed from the Cuban missile crisis in a significant way: They occurred when either the U.S. or Soviet or Russian leaders had to respond to false alarms from nuclear warning systems that malfunctioned or misinterpreted benign events.

3. It begins...
War will probably start in about 3-6 months. I feel bad for the Iranians. It's the government that's corrupt, not them. There is for example 'Iranian-Americans for Kerry' which is proud of the fact that Kerry chased down Oliver North who was helping the corrupt Iranian government.

6. I wonder at which point Bush will start closing the borders for people
wishing to leave The Bush Evil Empire to save their children from being cannon fodder?

I feel sorry for all of the people that these mad men are targeting. But I am terrified for this country and those of us who live here...

7. I feel bad for the Iranians too
but I feel bad for the Americans who will have to die in another war for no reason.

Maybe we should keep in mind that this could just be, for once by these bastards, blustering prior to diplomatic agreements. Also, don't forget the old "look over here, then hit them there" trick.

I can't believe all these bastards can talk about is who to attack next. Is war all they ever think about? Well, I already know the answer to that question.

4. And just what army are they going to use to invade Iran?

Our forces are so overstretched now that they are recalling inactive reservists. One psychiatrist was just called up after retiring from 40 yrs of service.

Bush has turned us into a paper tiger. And maybe that's just what is needed to return us to a democracy.

Mercenaries are paid by governments/tax payer dollars and corporations.

25. The only reason those dollars are worth anything...
... is that the US has a functioning economy, such that it is. The Treasury is still able to sell debt, so the dollar still has value.

If dollars meant 'gold', they might retain some worth if the gears stop turning for awhile. But they don't. They mean 'IOU', and the dollar would crash so bad in a situation like that that they'd probably have to try to acquire another currency to pay any corporate mercenaries with.

corporations have slowly been converting to Euros for the last two yrs..And fwiw, they don't care if the dollar crashes. The only ones that will be affected will be US citizens..and the dissidents will be headed to incarceration camps..

11. okey dokey, so
it's a given that bushco, tangled all up in its values as it is, couldn't care less about the immorality of what they're preparing to do. but in pure logistics, how in the name of all that's sane (not a whole lot anymore) do they intend to finance it and get troops to fight it? i'm sick. i can't go through another war. just can't do it.

Oil will be an even greater commodity. What other export does Iran have? Why should Iran burn their oil electricity, when nuke power is possible for them?

28. Bush thinks Americans are just as stupid as they are
After all of the lies and outrages over the past 4 years (actually far longer than that) it's pretty clear that the majority in this country are not only uninformed but easily swayed.

Part of me thinks we deserve exactly what we're getting.

Wasn't that detailed long ago by the PNAC?

Step by step, they push forward an agenda without a mandate, building an Empire without the consent (or even the knowledge) of the democratically governed.

As comes the Empire, comes the Emperor.
