Will Someone Please Explain To Me
how the other side can criticize a comedian who tells an off color joke about the President, but have no criticism for a Vice-President who curses on the Senate floor, or a Republican Governor who uses a sexist remark to describe his opponents?

Sometimes it feels like Alice in Wonderland. A Silver Star hero who served in the War is unpatriotic, and the man who joined the guard to avoid that service is a Super-Patriot.

I could list a hundred such items, but I'm really getting sick and tired of trying to educate everyone I talk to before i can convince them. And, by the way, listing them here would be a waste of time, because unlike the general public, you already know them.

How many of you feel the same way as I do, that it's getting frustrating trying to convince so many of the so obvious?

2. I find it very ironic...
...that GOP groups are planning to counter-protest the Democratic protestors at the Republican Convention. Whatever happened to the "fact" that "Liberals only believe in free speech for those who agree with them"? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black on that one.

And I LOVE when I hear a Republican say "How can you watch CNN, with their extreme liberal bias? Watch Fox, they're fair and balanced!". I want to scream every time I hear that one. Or in extreme cases, they may say "You should listen to Limbaugh/Hannity for a more centrist opinion". Grr- unbelievably annoying, aren't they?

4. I can give you a straight answer...
Cheney and Arnold represent themselves or, at least, the voters who voted for them. At least with Arnold there are no questions that he did get the votes.

While Whoppi Goldberg was hired by Slim Fast and hence can be fired. Florida, and most of the states, are "at will" states meaning they can fire you for no reason.

But then there is CBS. Why are all those who were shocked to see a breast are not when their children are constantly exposed to ads about erectile dysfunction? Only six years ago we read about parents who "had" to explain to their children what "oral sex" meant, since it was in the news but you don't hear all these hypocrites screaming about having to explain erectile dysfunction to their kids.

5. It's called "moral subjectivity", which the GOP are excellent at
Moral subjectivity can merely be defined as simply word-replacing Bush with Clinton or Gore with Cheney.

If Gore was head of Halliburton and CEO before he got into office and then formed no-bid contracts behind closed doors and will not allow for the records to be made available to the public, he would be dead now from the tar and feathering on Fox News.

If Clinton had ignored CIA warnings on August 6, 2001 about impending attacks by Osama bin Laden or even had ties to the bin Laden family, he would have been hanged on the White House lawn by now.

If 911 had happened under Clinton's watch, he would have been beheaded on Fox News at some point this summer.

So, in essence, the GOP are merely phonies, cowards, liars, hypocrites and traitors.

They have only one goal.

Turn the US into a theocratic oligarchy hellbent on unilateral wars where their sons and daughters do not serve.

And they will do anything they can to continue to be vapid, morally subjective enemies of real democracy.

7. or, basically, "having it both ways"
It's a particular mindset which makes one totally blind and deaf to irony. That's absolutely essential because any thinking person would otherwise blush, who attacked a triple-amputee Vietnam War veteran for being unpatriotic, while lauding the heroism of Bush (who declared on record that he wouldn't go to Vietnam) and Cheney (who also managed to get out of the war).

Or, for that matter, going on about how appealing Bush is because he doesn't think about things and isn't an intellectual -- but then turning on a dime and slamming Democrats who went to state universities and don't have multiple Ivy League degrees like George W.!

8. As it was discussed on "Hard Ball" tonight, I waited for
Tweety to ask your question. I kept thinking that he was going to do it. Then I thought Ariana Huffington would do it. Didn't happen.
