I am sick of these Michael Moore rumors being spread
"He didn't graduate high school," "He was convicted of a felony," "He was glad that America was attacked on Sept 11th," and so on and so forth. I keep hearing them from friends and foes alike. I am sick of it. None of this BS is true and we need to stop giving them life. If someone says it is, then ask them for some proof. Let them actually back-up their assertions before you go around spreading them. If they can't or won't, then tell them they are full of shit and move on. Is it me or is this all getting really old?

1. he was, however, recalled from the school board.
he mentioned it on the Daily Show. he ran for and won a seat on the school board when he was 18, his only platform was firing the principal and vice principal

3. He said it on TV but I don't remember where. But I don't think that
it is a blot on his reputation.

It shows what this country is about that even a someone who didnt graduate from highschool and became a felon can turn their life around and make the most of everything this great nation has to offer.

That this change in his life has made him decide to protect this nation from those who would try to keep all of the benefitys and wealth of this nation to themselves and prevent anyone else from benefitting by using the power and wealth they have gained in order to control the government and get it to act only in the interests of special interests and in opposition to the interests of the average citizen.

Moore's nobility is the true indication of the city on the hill. As a rich guy, Moore could sit around and rest on his laurels, and try to buy a Congressman or two in order to keep all of his millions. Instead, Moore fights for the interests of the average individual, not for Enron, and not to protect the CEO's of places like Enron, once they have accomplished their financial screwing of the people of an entire state, and stole all of the retirement funds from all of its workers. Because thats what really happens. You invest ten dollars, and they pay you back a dollar. Thats how they make and kep the money that their enployees put into the business. Let the stock come down in valuse, and then we dont have to pay the investor back even what they payed in. All the while that moey goes into salries and perks for the CEO's, and the obligation to pay it back, with some sort of return, disappears. Especially when the investors are captive, and they cannot sell when they see things are going bad.

I say Mooores face deserves to be on Mount Rushmore. He is an American Hero in the greatest sense of the word. His place is with the founding fathers. fighting against tyranny and power abused.

6. CRAP
He did graduate from High School. He even went to Boy's State...as did Bill Clinton and the smartest guys in my HS Class. He was the youngest person in the US to be elected to an office. There was a recall but he won. He wasn't recalled. He NEVER said that he was glad the US was attacked on 9-11. Yeesh if people on DU believe this garbage...no wonder the freepers are so whacked out.

8. Well the last two I mentioned were told to me
on two separate occasions this past weekend. Once by a friend of mine who is a Jewish Republican from Miami (go figure :)) and the second was at a bar by some drunk frat guy. They both told it to me in the exact same context and almost word-for-word, so it seems reasonable that they had heard it from some 3rd party source. It just pisses me off that character assassination through rumor is always the trump card for certain people.

14. The funny thing is, most of these "experts"...
...had never even heard of Michael Moore three months ago.

Almost word for word, huh? Sounds like more Republican talking points -- ala that Daily Show segment from last week. Yes! Make them prove it. All they're doing is passing on gossip like a bunch of old biddies.

15. It's not just you
I agree--"GIVE ME PROOF, back it up buddy". If they can't, they lose. And are liars.

They are desperate, quite honestly. Obviously they aren't getting any shit on him and it's driving them crazy. They can't really refute his movie since it's freaking TRUE and tons of people have backed that up. So now they have to attack him.

Whatever.

16. Davison High School produced two amazing activists....
Michael Moore, of course, and John Sinclair, manager of the MC-5, founder of the White Panther Party, and cultural icon for many.

Did you know that Michael Moore was an Eagle Scout and received a merit badge for a slide show he produced exposing environmentally unfriendly factories in Flint? He's been nipping at the heels of the " big guys" forever.
