Confuse Republicans about Nader! Make their plans backfire!

I know this might seem a bit simple minded, but its tactic is to confuse Bush supporters. As Nader begins to accept help from Republicans, and as the Election draws closer and closer I think -- in key battle ground states -- there should be an effort to get Republicans to "vote" for Nader.

It doesn't make sense I know, but if only a few hundred people buy into it and do it thinking that it will help Bush win it could shift the outcome of the election. Pose as Republicans telling people that they need to "Show support of 'that left wing nut Ralph Nader' to help steal votes from Kerry and help Bush win."

There are people who are stupid enough out there to do it. Prey upon the stupid Republicans and use their own tactics against them. Die-hard Republicans are used to getting orders like that and not asking questions or thinking about it.

It would be rather hilarious for a few hundred of Bush's supporters to shift over to Nader and then Kerry just happens to win by that one State.

It's even funnier because of the Democratic Mantra: "A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush." Some die-hard Thugs are sure to get confused. ;)

If you talk fast enough, and do it close enough to the election so that there isn't enough time for someone to talk them out of that, this just might work. Set up a table in some area where you think people will be receptive, wear some shirts with eagles and tanks and stuff on it, and go!

Wait until a week before we have to vote, and then just confuse the living hell out of them, giving the Republicans no time to counter. ;)

Try and keep it under the radar as well. House Calls might work best. Also as you say setting up a table somewhere might also work.

EDIT: I think House Calls will work better than a table would though. Simply because not everyone is going to fall for it, and some of those who aren't dumb enough to fall for it will likely stand nearby informing everyone who even comes close. Could be annoying, maybe even confrontational.

Doing it over the phone is fairly easy. No dissenting view, just you and the person your talking to. They'll let you know right off if they can buy into it or not. Just need a list of registered Republicans and a phone book.

TheNaderFactor.com launched an online petition and web ad campaign calling on all Democrats, Independents, and potential Nader supporters, to ask Nader to "keep his word and stop taking help from the extreme right wing."

TheNaderFactor.com took this action in light of a dramatic about face by the Nader campaign to now accept signatures gathered by Republicans in Michigan. The Nader Campaign reversed its stated position, as reported by the AP, taken just days earlier to refuse right-wing Republican efforts to use Nader's candidacy in Michigan to help the Bush campaign.

"What we saw in Michigan yesterday is that Ralph Nader is willing to sell his very integrity and soul to the extreme right-wing," said Chris Kofinis, strategist for TheNaderFactor.com, "What is so amazing is that Nader would accept help from the same Republicans that have tried to destroy every progressive cause he has ever stood for. This is a truly tragic moment in the legacy of Ralph Nader."

With 104 days till the election, Republicans have launched a widespread effort to both fundraise and help Nader's floundering candidacy qualify for the ballot in key battleground states. Right-wing Republican efforts to help Nader qualify for the state ballot have been documented in Michigan, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Florida, and Pennsylvania. As reported, Republicans leading these efforts have publicly stated that their interest in the Nader campaign is driven by a desire to help Bush keep the White House.

3. yes, this same thought has occurred to me

... Repukes are under the dumb mistaken impression that Kerry voters will switch over to Nader (like--DUH--the people who voted for Nader in 2000 are going to make the same mistake more than one time), that 2000 can be repeated, that it is worth the time and energy to get Nader on the ballot. Yes, bozos, keep hyping Nader and sending your money to him, instead of to Bushit. The next logical step is to vote for him--that'll show those Bush haters!!

About two weeks before the election, you started seeing Liberal ads saying "A vote for the NDP is a vote for the Conservatives." A week later, they started running radio ads explaining why a vote for the NDP is a vote for the Conservatives.

The Liberals lost big time, and the NDP and Conservatives gained.

So if any self respecting progressive wants to still vote for Nader knowing that the GOP is helping him on purpose so that votes are intentionally being swiped to HELP BUSH win, well enough said. I am one that follows Chris Bowers logic from MYDD.com, that a vote for Nader isn't necessarily a vote for Bush. Either a Nader voter will not vote or always votes third party anyway.

On Nader, I think he wants to destroy the Democratic party because he believes it is hopelessly corrupt and nievely believes a new "reformist" party will emerge by the next election cycle much like the Republicans of the 1850's. Who by the way got Lincoln elected with a 3 way vote split with less than 39% of the vote and at a time when the country was on the verge of civil war. As a matter of fact, legislators openly threatened war should Lincoln be elected.

The rest is history, and over 1 million dead Americans.

8. I agree on the points about Nader.

I think Nader sees things as: "Things have to get worse before they get better." Meaning, that he's more than willing to do what he can to harm the Democratic Party so people will become so disenfranchised with the Republican Party, that a third party will be able to rise and replace the Democrats.

So another words Nader is willing to risk killing millions of people, all the while saying "the end justifies the means". I don't believe that, although I happen to agree that the Democratic establishment is rather corrupt and beholden to Corporate Sponsors, and I will even go further to say John Kerry will be beholden to them as well. It's true that the Democrats are the "lesser of the two Evils", and George Bush will always be far worse than 99.9% of Democrats (there are a few of them out there that can put Bush to shame in their conservativeness)... but in the end I still believe that the Democratic Party can be changed from within. We just need to run progressive candidates for office, and form our own separate coalition, separate from the DNC and DLC, which is why I support the 21st Century Democrats: http://www.21stcenturydems.org/index.cfm.

I still stand behind my original post and I believe talking points are necessary for us to achieve our goals. I think to some degree we have talking points, but they are no where as well defined, organized, or coordinated as the Republican talking points.
