1. ??????
Ok, that's just FUCKED UP. Did they also offer to replace the penii of the dickless? Perhaps they should redirect their efforts at congressional representatives. There's lots of flabby useless boobs there, and no lack of dickless pricks.

10. nah it's not a joke
breast implants, liposuction, cosmetic surgery.

anybody in the army is eligible to get breast implants (females i assume), but the waiting list is a couple of years long they say. they were quoting stories of women joining the army and going to iraq just so they could get themselves some implants.

15. Oh, freedomonk, this desperation is terrible!
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 01:51 AM by dmr
It's exploitation and just reeks.

Damn, if these women live, they'll need far more than breast implants and liposuction.

As a citizen and as a woman, this makes me incredibly sad, numb and angry all at the same time.

Edit: grammar

It's a sad day when you have to promise plastic surgery to get people to enlist in the military.

... and found it anything but funny.

It's funny, peculiar, but not funny ha-ha, in the sense that it shows how desperate the military is to enlist others in their cause, but it's not so funny the way they're going about it.

So, if you go of to war as a relatively healthy young person, find yourself blown up by an RPG, and return home to the VA, are we extending benefits to you? How long will you be cared for, mentally and physically?

We're enticing young people into the military because we offer liposuction? Has the US military seriously tapped into the "Extreme Makeover" Generation? I guess I should put nothing past them, but I'm disgusted, all the same...

17. It is the doctors
Because of the need to perform reconstructive surgeries on casualties in time of war, the Army requires quite a few plastic surgeons for its "maxillo-facial" surgery teams. When there are not a lot of casualties, the surgeons are not fully utilized in their specialty. Having them do elective cosmetic surgery for Army personnel keeps them current in their field.

18. I understand what you're saying but....
how would implanting bags of saline into a chest or sucking out body fat prepare a surgeon for reconstructive surgery? Are military physicians not allowed to gain experience and keep current on civilians?

I've never thought about this before. Odd topic.

21. Remember
Most docs don't stay in service for a full career. When they get out, their bread and butter is cosmetic surgery and they need tostay in practice. The military has only so many faces needing reconstruction unless we are in an all-out war.

20. another sign of the utter depravity of the american leadership
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 03:36 AM by professor_pot
just the thought that the US army has to entice women with anything other than an appeal to patriotism is sick. and offering free boob jobs is downright nauseating.
one joins the army because one loves one's nation so much h/she is willing to sacrifice his/her life for the country.
the US army is dumbing down the whole purpose of being a soldier. this is not Hooters, this is supposed to be the nation's army- comprised of soldiers who are burdened with the trust of the entire country. a country that "sleeps peacefully at night with the comforting knowledge that its soldiers are awake," as one Bollywood movie recently put it.
what next america? promises of raping and pillaging sprees for your soldiers in invaded countries?

edit: spellings...

Military Makeovers

Incentives and rewards for our service men and women fighting overseas. It's a way to build morale and train heroes to be successful on the homefront. One of the perks you may not have heard about, Military Makeovers.

The Army has 20 plastic surgeons and during war time they focus is on reconstructive surgery to help injured soldiers. To stay updated on their training the Army offers free cosmetic surgery to soldiers and their families. It's a benefit soldiers are lining up to take advantage of.

Army Soldiers. They fight for our country. And in return the Army offers up the chance to see the world and receive a college education, but now there's a another huge incentive. Free elective cosmetic surgery, including face lifts, tummy tucks, breast enhancements and liposuction.

Rachelle Conaway, Texas Army Soldier, says, " They're not the ones going to war. I think we deserve it. " And these cosmetic surgeries aren't free for just soldiers, they're also free for their spouses and dependents. And there are no limits to the number of surgeries they can have.
