US officials at the time call the oil and gas pipeline project a “fabulous opportunity” and are especially motivated by the “prospect of circumventing Iran, which offered another route for the pipeline.”

things are still extremely unstable in afghanistan with Taliban resistance growing daily..opium production is growing..the chances of constructing a pipeline diminish daily..

maybe Iran is a better option..

I can't tell if this is just about oil, money, and war profiteering or if these people are focused on global domination or if they're so obsessed with the rapture, they're trying to make it happen.

Who the hell knows at this point. It's probably all of the above.

We're overstretched as things are, and we're going to roll the tanks and big guns on a run to Teheran? Put down the crack pipe. Iran is 10 times the size of Iran physically and population. Haven't we learned, yet (obviously not) you can't occupy a country nice and cleanly...these always turn ugly and tax down the occupier.

Lastly, there's not the national "will" per se, for an invasion. You won't see the networks...despite the whores they are...cheerleading like last time, as their own polling shows both how unpopular this invasion and Bushyboy is. This is what some wil call spine, I call it being an opportunist.

OK...we go into Iran...with whom? I sure wish it would be all the chickenhawk children...we'll call it the Jenna Brigade!
